Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe Velux window in the bathroom could have been cleaned on the outside. As far as I could tell, the hotel has no car park of its own, so we had to use the spaces on the place de la Mairie. When we returned to the vehicle at 11:00 we found a card on the windscreen, notifying us of a parking infraction which may be pursued. We are not unduly worried, however, as the only, tiny, benefit of Brexit is that drivers of UK vehicles can no longer be prosecuted for such offences. Although frankly, I would rather stilll be in the EU and pay the fine! At present the rue Serurier is quite dilapidated (April 2024), which affects the view from the room. However, we were told that renovation work will start this year, and that it will become a pedestrian street.
The rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of original features and wooden beams. We had 1 bathroom and 2 toilets. As it is an old building, the doors and floors were a bit creaky, but there was no noise from outside, so we had a peaceful night.

United KingdomUnfortunately, for us the bed was not very comfortable and the sheets felt slightly damp. Not surprising considering the weather. Most of the local restaurants were shut so choice was limited.
We had a choice of rooms and the one that we had was of good size. The hotel is possibly the nearest to the cathedral and the historic centre of the town. Breakfast was as you would expect in a French hotel.

United KingdomRoom was rather basic - fine for one night but the over bath shower disappointing.
Breakfast was lovely.. typically french and our host was v attentive. The location was in the ancient part of town.. parking in a free car park about 1 mins walk from hotel. We did grab the last space tho and not sure where we would have parked otherwise! Hotel was very old and quirky, full of character. Our bed was v comfy for us - q firm. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Great location, very quiet. Welcoming and friendly host. Quirky old building, very historic area. Spacious, warm room, perfect for a family. Short walk to good selection of restaurants (we recommend the Moroccan restaurant). Perfect petit dejuner, all very good value. We travelled with our dog and had no problem. Parking nearby (near the cathedral), which was free.

United States of AmericaOn a Sunday in the middle of winter, the town was not very lively (few restaurants open) and the one-way streets make navigating the center by car a little difficult, but not undoable!
This hotel is in the center of Laon, which is very convenient when visiting the cathedral and other sites in the old town. I was here in the Winter and it felt a little abandoned. However, the room was comfortable. the atmosphere I would describe as shabby-chic. The hotel owner was very friendly and easy to reach.

United KingdomBreakfast . Not brilliant. Note this is not a hotel if you have any mobility impediment
Location and its quirky decor/ ambience. This is a hotel built into a converted building dating back to the 1200s.right in the centre of the medical city. Owner allowed us to park our bikes in the court yard adjoining the hotel.

United KingdomThe bath/shower arrangement didn't work well. Helen tried a bath and couldn't get the plug to seal well, which meant she was continually trying to keep some water in the bath. This was a DISASTER as you know how some women like to wallow in a bath for a while. The shower, which was over the bath wasn't particularly generous with the water and the bath flexed alarmingly when you moved. Neither of these was a great problem, but when time/money allows, there should be a better solution. Oh, and be careful when standing up after using the toilet, the beams don't flex much when your head hits them. which is good in its way. Just painful.
I feel sorry for the owners of Les Chevaliers, as the area around the hotel is undergoing a significant restoration. However, this adversity just gives the hotel and its staff a chance to shine! And shine they did! The hotel is a very old building, which means that some allowances need to be made for the way it is constructed and the way that space is used. That being said we were perfectly happy and comfortable. The gentleman we met at the door was superbly helpful and looked after us very well. The location was perfect for us, especially as it was possible to park my motorbike in a secure location.

United KingdomThe frontage is a little dingy from the outside. However any misgivings were immediately dispelled by the warm welcome we got once inside.
We had a very comfortable, large room on the top floor of this quaint, characterful, old building. The manager's welcome was delightful and warm - he couldn't have been more helpful. As time was limited on our one-night stopover, he pointed us in the direction of the main sights and gave us some great restaurant suggestions.

United KingdomWe were fine with the stairs, but if you have limited mobility you could find it tricky.
This is a lovely small hotel, with fabulous medieval ambience, beams, ancient stairs and brickwork but modernised to make it comfortable. We were in room 12 which was spacious and had great views across ancient roof tops. It located only a few minutes from the cathedral in the heart of town. The host couldn’t have been more helpful, going above and beyond when we had a problem with our car. We’d definitely recommend this hotel.
