United KingdomThis a family-run hotel with an interesting history. The quality of the a la carte dinner was outstanding - high quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and well-served. There was a very extensive wine list as is to be expected in the Beaujolais region, and the bedrooms were named after wine-producing areas.

United KingdomThere were extensive ground-works taking place, renovating the gardens and blocking the normal entrance, so access to the hotel involved a muddy and gritty route around the outside of the building. This is temporary of course but, when you arrive in the rain, unpleasant!
The property is delightful - an oasis of charm in an industrial estate. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and the food in the restaurant is exceptional.

GermanyCheck in is at 17h, which is not common at all in any hotel. Personnel were not very friendly when we arrived before that time, we were not given any option more than leave because after lunch restaurant is closed and they close also the door of the hotel, not even possible to have a coffe to wait for check in. Building is nice, but in the middle of an industrial state taking away the unfortunately the charm of the place.

United KingdomBeware of Mine Host, undoubtedly the rudest woman we have ever come across in 20 years of travelling through France to and from our house in Perpignan She launched into a verbal attack in French after we questioned why the Wi-Fi was not working. And when I expressed disappointment that there were was no internet service especially as it was my birthday and I had arranged WhatsApp calls to friends and family I was subjected to anther tirade of abuse this time in English. Her English was impeccable so we doubt the problem was a translation issue. Perhaps she doesn’t like British guests. The final blow came when she told me she wasn’t going to speak to me. Her silence would hardly have been conducive to an enjoyable birthday meal so we had no choice but to pack our bags and find alternative accommodation for the night. It was a shocking experience and one we never want repeated. Subsequently, following my review on another website, she has written blaming my abusive attitude for the altecation. Recollections vary…. She also claims she acted professionally. A professional host with good customer service skills would have handled the situation differently and certainly would not have lambasted a guest celebrating a birthdate in such a rude and thoroughly childish manner.
We had hoped to write a positive review because when you drive up to the hotel, despite it being in the middle of an industrial estate and you cannot check in till 5pm, it looks quite charming. We had booked an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast but left after just 30 minutes.

NetherlandsThe restaurant was somewhat disappointing. For the main course, we have chosen fish. It was clearly not fresh and a heated up, standard pre-fabricated arrangement. The desert was also disappointing, anyway for us. Announced as a fruit cocktail kind of desert, we could not find the fruit, but it only had a fruit taste in a jelly kind of pudding.
The location is charming, nice building, old style, well decorated. Location somewhat above expectation, seen it is located in or near an industrial area.
