Room 37 at the attic, was just big enough to fit the double bed in. At the opposite bigger rooms (not sure they belong to the hotel), just 5 meter away, a man was taking pictures while we took a shower. The rolling blind for privacy in the bathroom didn't stay down and its spring rolled it up all the time ...this is not 4 star quality.

    The bed was good.

Most of the hotel. It would be a good hotel if you wanted to feel you were in a 1950 French film set.

Not very much, the room was small old fashioned and the bathrooms are in need of an upgrade. There is next to no storage area. There is only parking in an underground parking station a block away at 30€ per night.

My wife had broken her ankle on our travels and I had checked both on line and by email that the hotel was suitable for someone with a mobility disability. It was advertised as such and this was reinforced when I specifically checked. Unfortunately the only way the hotel could be called accessible was the lift. The bathroom was entirely unsuitable. The bath and toilet blocked the way to the basin. There was no walk-in shower, only a bath. Added to this was lack of space to move around the bed and a sloping 'dormer' ceiling. The weather was hot and the room was in an attic space so it was particularly uncomfortable. A member of staff kindly offered a type of fan which it turned out was inadequate and automatically cut off every two hours, making us wake up in a lather of sweat. In addition, all the surrounding streets were cobblestone, the worst possible surface for someone using a mobility device. There seriously needs to be some proper benchmarks set before a place can claim that it's accessible. We got the impression that this hotel thought a lift was sufficient when it clearly was not.

There was a lift. The staff were helpful.

Location was fantastic and parking easy on the weekend, but know that most shops are closed on Sunday. Also, underground garage across street closes Sunday evenings for some reason, but we were able to find free street parking for the night. Friendly and helpful front desk staff, beautiful lobby and, though small, our rooms were lovely. Really loved the large bathtub! Pricey but large and delicious breakfast. Those of us with small appetites had amazing chocolate croissants and coffee down the street. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. We will be back to explore more of Lille and will definitely stay at Hotel de la Treille again.

If I have to pick a fault (which I am not doing) it's that the room did not have air conditioning and not all upper floors rooms are served by a lift. This was not a problem for me but worthwhile knowing if you have difficulty with stairs, you would need to contact the hotel and tell them.

An excellent welcome. Friendly, efficient staff. Very clean. Rooms decorated to a very high standard and excellent en-suite facilities. Good breakfast quality and selection. This is a very well-appointed hotel and the location for "Vieux Lille" is spot on. There is an excellent restaurant less than 100m away from the hotel, "Le Lion Bossu", which I would heartily recommend! Lots of Cafés and bars nearby which are very popular in the summer months.
