Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI had wanted parking which was on the Booking.com form but on arrival we discovered this had to be booked directly with the hotel! The road to the hotel is only accessible by foot and the nearest free parking is at the station about 10 minutes walk away and not particularly secure.
Good view of the river. Well located to explore the city.

FranceMore coat hangers would have been handy. Breakfast was fine, though nothing special and hot drinks were from a machine. Lots of stairs to reach the first floor! Parking extremely difficult to find.
Location was perfect, a lovely (short) walk in to the town centre. Hotel was quiet, rooms cleaned daily (and well.) Owners very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

United KingdomNo tea and coffee in the room. Otherwise great.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was immaculate and had a typically French charm - not flashy but really welcoming and cozy. Fabulous Rhône views, you are right on it and Arles Centre is literally around the corner. Great spot!

United StatesRoom was a little worn with a musty carpet smell. Not enough electrical outlets and inconveniently located. the hotel advertises air conditioning, but it was "off for the season" even though it was almost eighty degrees. if A/C is seasonal, hotel should advertise so. there are people who need a/c for health reasons.
Superb location and value overlooking the Rhône. surprisingly quiet. Several convenient parking options.

United StatesAn old and charming hotel in the Old Town area, it lacks an elevator. This was not a problem for us but for anyone who has trouble with stairs it might be a handicap.
Delightful staff who were very helpful. They stored our bicycle case for a week in advance of our arrival. The bicycle storage is in a locked garage right next to the hotel and worked very well.

United KingdomEverything worked well. The hotel was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs. The breakfast was fine but not as imaginative as it might be. The place was definitiely just for sleeping and breakfast so not as friendly as some places.
This was a small hotel on the banks of the Seinne. The location was ideal for exploring Arles. Our room overlooked the river Seinne. Arles is a delightful little town and when we visited there was a convention for photographers. The climate was ideal because we were basked in the gentle breeze from the mistral, a relief after the extreme heat of summer 2022. Arles had plenty to see and do. We also had delicious meals as you might expect in a French town.

United StatesMy shower went cold pretty quickly. I adjusted it and it got hot again, but then cold again. It might've been me. I didn't worry much about it because I only stayed 1 night and only needed a quick shower. There was some transfer of noise from the bar down the block but it was drowned out by the AC and ear plugs.
Super friendly front desk staff. Great location walkable to all the major sights of the city. Also pretty close to the train station, which happens to be a good spot to park a car for free overnight--I did so with no issues. But it's on the edge of town so isn't chaotic or overly busy. My room was comfortable, with a small desk and a sitting area, so plenty of room for me. I found the mattress and pillows comfy. Having AC is great and I also loved the metal blinds that helped me sleep in! The breakfast spread for 9 euros was standard but reasonable--boiled eggs, some meats and cheeses, pastries, cereals, juice, coffee machine, etc. With a few extra touches could be a 3-star property.

United StatesRoom pretty small for 2 people. No fridge. But the bathroom was redone very cute and all things were very clean. If you spend most of the day out and about, the size is less bothersome.
View out the window - Rhone River, but you do have to stand up to see it. Beautiful. Excellent location to reach all spots in town and take walks along the river bank.
