Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThis was our second stay at l'Observance and everything was just as perfect as last year. Love the quiet and lush gardens around the pool. Very close to everything but without feeling like you're in the city. The owners are extremely welcoming and the breakfast always delicious. The l'occitane toiletries are a really nice touch too. Would definitely come back.

our hosts were wonderful and helped us with recommendations, our room was huge for Europe and so was the bath, we used the pool, which was nice for cooling off after a long day, the little roof top patio was great for sharing a glass of wine. the location was great, walking distance from the historic sights and great restaurants and it was so quiet, lovely for sleep. yummy breakfast every morning started our days. would definitely recommend and stay again!!

South KoreaNothing seriously wrong or to dislike. If I really have to list something maybe I will complain about no elevator. My aged mom had a bit of difficulty going up to the second floor but for most it shouldn't be a problem. The other thing maybe that there is a big dog under complete control but it will still bark at you. If you have any phobia or any bad experience of such that can be a problem. The location is a bit off the center or from the train station but it is a small town so depending how you look at it, it can be bad or good.
A spacious, quiet room with a pretty good view which characterizes the region (cypress trees and old stone buildings). Extremely practical yet kind hosts as you can typically expect from Dutch (the hosts were Netherlands and I believe that they are owners). Balanced breakfast and arranged special care based on our schedules (our train schedule was messed up due to the strike) for both in and out. Again practical info was given for the area with a personalized map with some suggested restaurants. Nice rooftop area to hangout. Extremely spacious bathroom. There was also an extra desk in the common area where I can work outside the room.

AustraliaWe could easily hear the occupants in the next room. Unfortunately we couldn't get the air conditioning in our room to work.
The location was excellent. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, and had excellent suggestions for local restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable, and a good size for two people. The house is a 14th century building and an absolutely unique property which has been beautifully restored. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great range of fresh food each day. Parking on site was safe and secure, and easy to access.

United KingdomNothing , I would happily return anytime . We loved it .
A real hidden gem , the host were very welcoming and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible . The pool surrounded by lovely trees and gardens is well maintained and makes for a relaxing place to relax after visiting the beautiful city of Avignon and surroundings. The room was spacious and well designed with a very comfortable bed. Loved the l'Occitane products in the bathroom. The breakfast was a highlight, the communal table is great to exchange travelling tips with some lovely people. The food was delicious with fresh fruits grown in the gardens, delicious pastries and options to meet special dietary requirements. A lot of care for details ( down to offering to park our car for us in the private parking they provide) made our stay there very easy and special at the same time. The owners created the kind of experience you want to find everywhere you travel. Hospitality at its very best.
