There was no-one to open the door, just a telephone number to ring. My Spanidh telephone wasn't working, in the end a passing young man used his phone to obtain the entry code. Not at all impressed.

It was a lovely old building full of character. The staff were very helpful when I was unable to arrive until late at night and made sure I was able to get into the hotel and access my room. It was very close to the bus station which was also helpful

Good location, at the meeting of two rivers, and reasonably central to the rather dispersed centre of the town. Good breakfast, friendly staff. The rooms are very interesting, themed on countries of the world. We were in "China" - some exquisite furniture and a lot of attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

There was a vague smell of damp in the room but not a big deal.

The location was perfect and the staff was very kind. The room was very cute and the beds were the most comfortable I tried in a long time. The bathroom had everything needed along with a hairdryer. The breakfast was perfect too.

the Morrocan room that we had booked had quite much street noise from the fast traffic -

we had booked the Morrocian room - which actually is the biggest room but also the room with most street noise. If I had known that in advance when booking I would have asked for room not facing the noisy street. I know now that each floor has 4 rooms. I would recommend the booking shows a plan of how the rooms are situated according to the noisy street

The hotel looks a little scruffy from the outside, but is fine inside. It's only a few minutes walk from the train station. The staff were very helpful, and the self-help breakfast was good.

It was a little eerie as the reception was closed when we arrived as it was Sunday evening, they had given us the codes etc so no trouble getting in but it was odd as only 2 other guests there!

Cute and quirky, right in the centre of oleron and they were very receptive to my gluten free needs, even messaging the day before mentioning it so I knew they hadn't forgotten!

We loved the hotel and the host was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable with hot showers. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city.

Although the hotel is old, we did not find the level of maintenance to be acceptable. In short, the whole place had a shabby feel to it. Reception was only manned part time. There's no lift. The room looked out onto a noisy square with windows that didn't shut properly.

Outside looks unkempt, No staff on duty till 4.30pm if you arrive earlier you find a locked door.

First impression is not good but the room was ok. You are given a code to come & go as no one around.

Nothing. Only the fact we couldn't stay longer as we were on a tight schedule.

Interesting building, built in the 800s. Previously the Bank of France. The proprietor was lovely. She was very helpful when we rang to say we'd been held up so would be arriving very late..The bedroom was large and comfortable - and quiet. The shower was nice and powerful. Breakfast was individually made and served on a tray. It comprised fresh bread, croissant, jams and a mixed fruit salad with natural yogurt. Delicious. Parking immediately opposite was free at night until 1000.

Lack of maintenance. We first stayed in this hotel over 10 years ago when it first opened. It looks like little has been done to it since. Shortage of staff. Room not serviced at all during a 3 night stay. The “toiletries” was 1 small bar of soap! Toilet roil not replaced. The lovely receptionist was only available very limited times. She also had to prepare and serve breakfast but at restricted times such 6.30 or 8.39.

Excellent location in Oloron town for bars, restaurants, etc. Simple but decent breakfast. Good value for money.
