Very individualized setting in beautiful surroundings and nearby the village

Some amenities missing you would expect from *** , i.e. cleenex, curtain shower, waste basket in the room not just small one in the washroom

Very special setting - each room individualized. Very nice garden. Parking in front of hotel. In walking distance to village and restaurants. You get served the breakfast in the garden and you can choose extras which makes the rather high price of EUR 15.- ok.

Hotel is a 20 minute steep hike up to the village - highly recommend taking the car to the village although limited parking in season.

Rustic 16th century hotel below the village fully equipped to 3-star standard. Room spacious and adequately furnished. There is no lift and stairs steep so recommend the first floor! Owner eccentrically charming with decent command of English. Breakfast individually prepared by owner with option of scrambled egg and bacon.

Nothing we didn't like but coffee/ tea facilities in the room would be a bonus for a coffee before bed, although the host did offer to make coffee in the reception if we got back from dinner. Sometimes you just want to have a coffee in the morning before you get out of bed! Really minor comment.

The host was very welcoming! Check in pain free, we were even allowed to choose which room we wanted as each are a little different! The view from the bedroom was lovely and the gardens looked beautiful, although the weather wasn't fantastic for our stay. Location wise it was a short 5 minute walk to the village centre, it was steep so not accessible by foot for anyone who struggles walking and you might want a torch for the way back! Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, it's extra but WELL worth it. You get a bit of everything, including scrambled eggs and bacon which was a brilliant start to the day.

There is no curtain in the bath, what is not comfortable if you decide to take shower. Breakfast is tasty and includes even ham and melon, but a little bit expensive. I would suggest to give options for guests - small and full breakfast.

Beautiful old building with charming garden, amazing view from the room on the 2nd floor, spacious room, clean bathroom, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast. 10 minutes by foot from the centre of village, but be prepared to go up. By car it's only 2 mins, if the season is not high, you'll find the parking easily. Good restaurants is very close.

When we booked we were given a price from booking.com, this price did not include a €1.5 per night per person tax! We questioned this on checkout and were told it is a tax for the village! It would have been nice to have been pre-warned. Breakfast is/was not included and is €14 per person per night for continental breakfast. The shop in the village has a very good selection of food if you want to go self service.

The property is very nice and very near the small village, there are many walking routes available into the mountain area of varying distances. Although not specified on the description the rooms do have a safe and mini fridge available and some have walk in showers but most are shower over bath. In the village is an ice cream shop where the guy makes a rose out of ice cream in a cone, pretty impressive, one to check out if you like ice cream.

    Best breakfast in France!

The walk up to the town was fine for us (prefer staying out of town to not having parking) but it is quite steep and not lighted, so returning in the dark after dinner was a challenge (flashlight function on phone was helpful). The circular stairs with risers of different heights up to our room are quaint and did not bother us but might be a problem for people who are not steady on their feet or carrying large bags.

The best breakfast we had on the whole trip, we literally could not eat everything. (not included in the price of the room, but at least worth the money it cost!) The room was large and well-furnished, though somewhat dark, and seemed reasonably clean. The parking area is right in front of the door. The owner Jean-Luis is very helpful, and even came to find us in his car and show us the way to drive to the hotel, as we were not able to locate with our GPS, also lent my son binoculars to look at the eagles in the Gorges du Verdun.

Lovely place to stay for a couple of days. Really nice owner. Excellent breakfast for a good price. Rooms have air conditioning and it is priceless for the summer season! Bring some slippers with you though, stone floors of this beautiful 16th century building may seem a bit cold. The hotel is situated in a picturesque Provence town Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, but not in the centre of it, which is really good (quiet location). You can take short (but sure exciting) drive from the hotel to the marvellous lavender fields on the plateau de Valensole. Also visit The Gorges Du Verdon and Lac de Sainte-Croix.

Couple of hairs in the bath and on the floor. Tiled floor made our feet quite dirty if we weren't wearing shoes. Didn't try breakfast as it was €15 extra per person.

Welcoming owner, lovely bedrooms (had a look at others too). Comfortable bed, mini bar, good sized bath, air conditioning and a short walk from the centre of the village (up hill).

When I asked the time of check out, I was told that I could check out whenever I wanted. The hotel wasn't fun so the owner let us take our time. A little touch that left a lasting memory.
