Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere is nothing around the property which, on one hand, is its major appeal (peace and quiet, space) but on the other means you need to drive 10 minutes to find supermarket, restaurants etc. We had a rental car so was no issue. Centre of Reims is only 10-15 minutes away.
Beautiful old French home that’s been in the family for generations. Welcoming host. We had a huge, recently renovated, loft style apartment. Quiet rural area, a short drive from Reims.

United KingdomThere were quite a few flies when we were there and maybe insect screens on the windows would be helpful.
The location was great for our long journey from the UK to Italy. It was a very pretty site. The apartment was lovely and well equipped with a comfortable bed and the shower facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable.

United KingdomI honestly can’t think of anything I disliked
We stayed in the building just to the side of the house. Which had two double beds upstairs in separated rooms/areas. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen and little living space downstairs was perfectly equipped and looked out on to the beautiful grounds. This was just a stopover on our way to Germany so it was a lovely big outdoor space to be able to let the children and dog run around after a long journey. Breakfast was also lovely and the children enjoyed sitting around the big communal table with other families to eat.

United KingdomReally great location just off the main roads, but still quiet enough. Sophie was great, recommending bike hire and places to visit. We especially loved being able to use the BBQ, as a welcome change from having to eat out at restaurants whilst on a touring holiday. We would definitely return and recommend to others.

United KingdomNothing comes to mind
The breakfast was taken with other guests at the house, and was varied and ample. The house includes a room in which coffee can be made, and is available for guests from arrival. The grounds are beautifully kept and free for guests to wander or sit in the sun. The bedroom was large and comfortable, with a good sized en suite, and the bed gave the best sleep of the holiday. We felt very welcome

United KingdomElectrics in our room were inadequate with only one socket with a multi-way adapter so not easy to charge both our phones overnight. The outside lock was very stiff and difficult to open. It’s a personal preference but we like to have restaurants within walking distance and this property is a way outside the nearest village (being Monday very few places were open anywhere).
For a one night stay this worked well for us. It was easily accessible and has on-site parking. The room we had (basic room in main house) was adequate and there was a good French-style breakfast and thankfully a kettle to make fresh tea with boiling water. The grounds are lovely with loungers, chairs and tables for guests to relax. It looked like the rooms in the outbuildings were far more spacious than the room we had booked so would be good for a longer stay. Easy drive to the village of Verzenay with many Champagne producers. We also enjoyed a wonderful walk in the forest nearby.

United StatesThe house borders a busy road and roundabout. The traffic was noisy in the evening and car lights kept shining into our room. I carry a white noise machine which helped with the traffic noise.
Lovely place! High quality decor and furnishings made this a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was good and the owner, Sophie, was helpful and friendly.

United KingdomWe used the Bertonnnerie as a stop over. Easy to find the quiet location. We were shown our very comfortable room and en-suite. Breakfast was around a dinning table with everything that one would want for a good meal with good choices of teas and coffees and breads. We were sad to have to leave on our way to see our family.
