How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe location is fantastic. Also, the hotel was very clean, most of staff was friendly
No WiFi, which was shocking! Shabby room with hole in wall, no shower but a bath that could not be stoppered, no toiletries except combination shampoo/body wash (not even a bar of handsoap or tissues!), no safe, no minibar, no variety at breakfast over three days and slow to replenish --- and ran out of croissants and baguette midservice. Tiny elevator, which is fine, but it took two days to replace a lightbulb in the dark stairwell-- had to use my phone's light app to maneuver the stairs. Missing wall tiles. In general, the hotel seems poorly maintained. Tripadvisor reviews are misleading

Verified reviewThe breakfast room was really nice, and there was a good variety of things to eat. The location is great, and an easy walk from the train station.
A check-in time of 4:00 pm (with no flexibility) is too late. 3:00 pm would be more reasonable. The noise from air conditioner was too loud. I mentioned this to the staff and they recommended that I set it to "silent mode" using the remote control. However, it still made an unpleasant noise, and it didn't keep the room cool enough at this setting. Leaving it on "normal" mode meant that earplugs were required in order to sleep. Also, the noise from other guests in the hall was loud, especially when they closed the room door. In short: the air conditioner was old and should be replaced. And the room doors should be replaced or fixed to make less noise when they are closed.

Verified reviewSuper location. Nice room - we had a balcony and a view of the mountain’s.
The room had a strange odour. The resultant staff were stand offish.

Verified reviewThe rooms was exceptionally nice, the location was central.and perfect
I consider the check in time of 4pm a little late....as did the other 7 people there for precisely 4pm....only for the person on reception not arrive at her desk until 4.15... It was appreciated that I was able to leave my luggage for the day.. .but I would like it noted...that with such a late check in... When you have arrived in collioure at 10am.... I feel it's important that the receptionist is there precisely at 16h....

It was a double room but for me two single beds shoved together does not make a double bed. No internet in the rooms was a problem. I saw later that it was mentioned in Booking.com but I did not look imagining that a 3* hotel would automatically have. No plug in bath for those wanting to take on. Lift to fifth floor an old-fashioned one. Held one or maybe two if you were very intimate with someone! No foyer with seats so you had to stand around waiting to speak to reception.

Verified reviewI needed to find a room for the night at very short notice, and this hotel offered a really comfortable, clean room at an excellent price. The staff went out of their way to help you. Another huge advantage is that it is situated right in the heart of Collioure.
It is quite noisy from very early in the morning.

Verified reviewThe room is comfortable with a very good mattress and good temperature control. Location is very central in Collioure - which comes with pros and cons. Staff was very present and attentive.
Central location means being on top of a busy street, with restaurants noise at night and truck deliveries in the morning. Inside the hotel doors banging can also be annoying.

Verified reviewLocation and the room
One just needs to be aware that in a small traditional hotel the elevator is small and slow. It helps to speak French, since not all staff knows English. Sunday market, so you can’t park close by. if you park on the lot across, be aware to park on top of the hill on Saturdays to be able to get out Sunday

Verified reviewLocation, wonderful room, wonderful breakfast, welcoming staff, easy acces to/from public transportation, to downtown, restaurants and beaches.
I liked everything, but I think the hotel should invest in individual room safes. Travellers might not want to take "anything" with them onto the beaches, but at the same time they might not want to leave "everything" around in their room in the open. And be it just travel documents or mobile phones.
