A real home from home, felt so comfortable here and made to feel incredibly welcome by Mike and Frances. They had left one of the most generous welcome packs I’ve experienced booking an gîte. Mike was very helpful, providing instructions on how to use heating, air pump, tv etc as well as giving us much needed advice on our house search. Very well equipped kitchen with essentials coffee ,tea, oil etc and all the utensils needed to prepare meals and even the dinner table was set for our arrival. Comfortable bed, 2 toilets and cute little garden which I imagine is beautiful in the summer, we visited in January so a bit too cold to sit out and much warmer inside. 5 to 10 minutes walk into Civray and if you have a car a very convenient parking space just outside the cottage.

Absolutely wonderful home. From the moment you enter the house, you feel welcomed: tastefully decorated living room with beautifully set up dinning table and a welcome pack in the kitchen, which was very much appreciated. The kitchen is superbly equipped with a view to the garden which is lovely and spacious. Bedrooms and the bathroom were neat and very nice. The hosts made sure that the house had everything you needed to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. Additionally, parking space in front of the house was great to have and the location was fantastic (only 5 min walk to the township). Just splendid.

Well appointed cottage with nice private outdoor area to relax in. Considerate host who was great to deal with. A short walk to the centre of Civray for coffee etc.

All the extras - a real home from home. It was like borrowing a home off a friend! It was so clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. We felt at home really quickly and all the details and personal touches were great. I loved the styling. Mike was great and welcoming and it was lovely of Frances to phone and check all was well.

Absolutely First Class !! It is difficult to praise Mike and Frances highly enough. The price was excellent, and the service/facilities are extraordinarily good. Mike needs a special mention because he provides superb welcoming and communication at all stages, in a warm and approachable way. Thank you so much for making our staying so nice and effortless. Will definitely make a return in future.

Humidity in house! You enter and this is the first smell is this. Owners are switching off the heating when they want. This is old stone house, nice in general, but…: - humidity is a big problem - beds are horrible - when you turn on the bed the floor is so noisy that all house know that you moved - cold in bathroom

The very noisy/squeaky floorboards upstairs. The creaky bathroom/toilet doors. The inability to cool the upstairs bedrooms.

Welcome food and drinks was much appreciated. The cheeses and pate were delicious. Location is excellent as you can walk to town. Communication was good. Living and kitchen areas were perfect. The backyard was large and very peaceful. Off-street parking was a bonus.
