Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Noisy at night, pillows need upgrading. Some small finishing touches like a full length mirror and a blind on top bedroom window so you could shower in privacy. Description of terrace was misleading. It's not private and doesn't belong to apartment

Didn’t bother us but some people might struggle with the spiral staircases if they have any mobility issues.
Excellent location. Beautiful place to sit right outside (shared) but available lots of the time. Gorgeous views. Comfortable beds.

There are many small tight internal stairs (spiral staircase) may bother some people.
Exceptional location in the old city. Kitchen is well equipped. Place is cozy. Hearing worked well.

The location on the canal was great. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the showers were great. Nice that there was a washing machine although we didn't use it.
The location was great, however, it was next to a pub so it was a little noisy at night for the bedroom on the canal. The place had everything we needed and exceeded expectations. I will recommend this place to others.

There was only 1 toilet, but I understand that due to property size no second toilet is possible. The lighting outside was a bit dim; especially as we visited during winter time when it gets dark early.
It is a very charming building in the middle of the city. Good possibility to pick up something from the bakery in the morning. A lot of restaurants around to go to dinner in the evenings.

Wasn’t advised we would have to park done distance from the property as the accommodation is located in the middle of a pedestrian area.
Exceptional spot to stay with the town and lake on your doorstep literally with an abundance of shops and restaurants within walking distance

Great location, right in the heart of the city centre, perfectly located for getting breakfast at cafes right on your doorstep and right next to numerous restaurants for evening meals. Close walk to lane Anncey - great place for a refreshing swim with views of the Alps in the background. The apartment is great - tastefully decorated and comfortable with all the amenities required such as fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Not suitable for older people. 3 flights to get to the toilet; apartment on 4 levels with spiral staircase. Hard to navigate with luggage. Would not recommend for people with young children or older people. Spiral staircase dangerous.

The lack of hospitality. No information leaflet with houserules and suggestions. Beds were quite uncomfortable. Pigeons under the roof above the bed were quite disturbing during the night. Only one set of keys. Outside area in need of some care. Cleaning staff appear to have taken a couple of garments we accidently left behind, claiming that there were no personal belongings left there.
The location is perfect, in the heart of town. The apartment is beautiful. and Annecy is amazing.

Only one shared bathroom with toilet on bottom floor. It made it hard at night to use the bathroom without making noise walking down the spiral stairs ( disturbing the sleep of the occupants in the bottom floor bedroom).
