How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewGreat location, could walk into Bayeux and could visit all of the local attractions only a short drive away. Nicely presented and decorated apartment although little privacy for the second bed as this was divided from the living space by a partition wall with no doors. Great breakfasts delivered to your door. Lovely owners. Bed very comfortable.
Hot tub was broken and unusable although owners very apologetic. Too cold to use swimming pool but hot tub would have been great. The picture of the pool and house with the patio doors is not the apartment, it is the owners house and looked lovely so we felt a little mislead. We were in an apartment in the roof space and every room ceiling was sloping and I kept banging my head on the walls and beams in bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room (I am 6ft 2 inches tall). Was very expensive for what we got in our opinion, prior to this we had stayed in a hotel and a bed and breakfast which we felt offered much better value for money. Having said all of that we did enjoy our stay.

Verified reviewPhilipe and Nathalie are very friendly and welcoming hosts. They left a lovely breakfast basket outside our door every morning - the bread and pain au chocolate were so good! Our teenage kids loved the apartment and it had everything we needed. The beds were really comfy and there was a good fan to keep us cool on warm evenings. It’s only a 10 min stroll into town centre and situated in a nice neighbourhood. We really liked Bayeux, it is the perfect location and within easy travelling distance of all the D Day sites, which we visited by car. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Verified reviewBeautiful house with tremendous facilities: a lovely pool, a hot tub, plenty of outdoor seating and a fabulous breakfast delivered to our room. Our room was beautifully designed, really well equipped with cooking facilities and a super comfy bed. Above all though, it was Philippe and Natalie who made the stay, so welcoming and delightful.
Not in the centre of Bayeux (c 15 mins walk) but with free on street parking outside.

Verified reviewA beautiful ‘home’ where you are made to feel exceptionally welcome. The facilities are extensive, rooms have everything you need and more. Swimming pool and hot tub are very clean and available to use in a secluded and secure garden. Outdoor covered kitchen and fire pit available should you like to use them. The property itself is a very easy 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Bayeux.

Verified reviewThis was an amazing home build in the 1800s with a perfect renovation. The ambiance was of a French country home however you had all modern conveniences of a modern dwelling. A wonderful breakfast including bread, croissant, pain au chocolates, cheese, ham, etc. was included. The garden including pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen and very lovely blooming shrubs and trees was so peaceful and relaxing. Lastly, I cannot say enough about how wonderful and kind were the property owners and their family. I highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity while visiting Bayeux.
It is hard to say anything negative about the property. It is a little (25 minute walk) from the main city center; however, this may be a positive for some travelers.

Verified reviewThe friendliest hosts you could ever wish to meet! Nathalie and Philippe were wonderfully welcoming, sharing information on the area, and making us right at home. From their beautiful house, comfortable beds, exquisite garden and lovely breakfasts delivered in a basket, we couldn’t ask for more. It’s a real hidden gem. Cherry on top was that Nathalie is an amazing cook and can offer a range of things to cook on a brilliant menu. We were lucky to enjoy a seafood platter and steak on our last evening which was amazing. 🤩 We felt we were with friends we’d known for a long time. We will definitely go back!

Verified reviewBeautiful house with gorgeous pool and jacuzzi (even though I didn’t use the pool ans jacuzzi). My room was decorated to perfection had large windows that let in a lot of light. The space felt very comfortable, cozy and was spacious. The couple who run the place were so sweet and took such good care of me. Since I had to leave early for a work meeting on two of the days I was there ans wasn’t able to have breakfast l, Nathalie would leave me a basket filled with of goodies the evening before. Also, Phillipe drove me into town every morning. It was very sweet. Also near by are the botanical gardens, which were very nice to walk through.
The property itself was perfection, however since I didn’t have a car and relied mainly on my feet, the property felt slightly far from town. I would still stay here again though because I loved the accommodations and the hospitality from Nathalie and Phillipe.

Verified reviewWe loved the warm welcome from the hosts, Philippe and Nathalie, the lovely decor and cleanliness of the apartment, the convenience of the location (10 min walk to the beautiful town center of Bayeux) and having a pool and a jacuzzi after a long day of sightseeing! It was a most relaxing vacation!
Nothing, everything was perfect. We only wish we could have stayed longer than 4 days but there is always next time!

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The hosts Philippe and Nathalie were kind, gracious, warm and accommodating. A delicious breakfast was prepared every morning. Breakfast is ordered the previous day and there are many options to accommodate everyone's personal favorites. We chose to have breakfast in the garden every morning but you can also have it brought to your room. The garden behind the house is a little slice of heaven with a pool, hot tub, tropical plants, fire pit, many different seating areas, pool lounge area, long dining table, one in the shade and one in the sun, an outdoor kitchen, barbeque, games, .... We rented the top floor apartment with the two king-sized beds. It is tastefully decorated with everything you need. There is a small kitchen with all the appliances, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, a kitchen table which was nice to work on, a sitting area with large couch, tv, gas fire place, comfortable beds, many windows for cross ventilation which was great because the days were warm. The master bedroom has its own tv and wc and then there is a large full bathroom with tub, huge walk-in shower, bathrobes. There is easy parking in front of the house and the walk into town is only 15 minutes. La Paresse en Ville is a home away from home where you will feel welcome!
There is nothing not to like!
