Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. No negative comments to give.
Beautiful traditional French property with large rooms and plenty of space. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous garden and swimming pool. Location was excellent for our travel plans and the village has nice restaurants and a handy Spar. Dawn and Andy are friendly and welcoming. They are on hand to give information and cater for every need. We recommend this stay for 1 night or more to explore the area.

very friendly welcome, we were staying out late at an event and the hosts explained how we could get in after the party. All very helpful. Next morning after a delicious breakfast we were on our way, very content !

The property was beautifully presented and very comfortable. The garden with the pool and terrace was a lovely place to sit in. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They gave good suggestions of where we should visit in the locality. We felt they bent over backwards to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I’d thoroughly recommend the villa and would love to go back.

All was great
Traditional French property with lovely decor Large room with comfortable bed and large bathroom, added bonus of air con. Gardens and swimming pool were fabulous Great location in a pretty town. Great breakfast and Dawn and Andy very friendly and helpful. Secure parking.

Not a thing!
La Ville Celine oozes both French chic and charm . We spent two exceptionally comfortable nights , it really is unique! A Gem of a guest house where it’s hosts, couple Andy and Dawn show genuine care.

A lovely old house that has been beautifully decorated in keeping with the era of the house. Dawn and Andy were very welcoming and helpful. Comfortable mattress and a top sheet.

Perhaps more savoury options for breakfast for those who have longer stays
Dawn and Andy gave us a very warm welcome and were there for us whenever we needed support or advice while travelling around this beautiful part of France. It is clear they run a special establishment

The location was great, it was quiet and peaceful yet close to lots of wineries and bigger towns. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable, and had perfectly working AC units. The shower was amazing. Both the room and the grounds were extremely clean. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts went out of their way to accomodate all of our allergies and food intolerances. They also helped us get aquantied with the area and helped make reservations to restaurants. Parking was good and easy in the grounds and the pool was an awesome bonus. We can’t wait to go back.

The mattresses were very soft wich is not a dealbreaker in itself but made my night pretty rough. That's pretty much it for cons.
Beautiful property, very well situated in the heart of a lovely village. The house is beautiful and the owners have kept a lot of original details that makes the experience authentic and special. They were super helpful with all our questions and needs, and made us a great full breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend if you are a fan of old french buildings.

Andy and Dawn are fantastic. Thought we were getting a simple, no frills stopover, but felt genuinely cared for - brilliant local knowledge, comfortable beds, brilliant bathrooms in a beautiful old town house. Only sorry we didn’t have two nights.
