The car park spaces are tight if oyu have a large car like we do and you need to vacate the space when you check out, not great if you're planning on skiing for the rest of the day - although you can park on the road.

Great location, friendly, helpful and informative staff, room was modern and clean, with all the facilities you'd expect in a 4* hotel, great private parking, which cost €15 per night (although you can park for free on the roads (I guess it depends on how much you like your car and the weather conditions) We would stay again

I can´t point out any neg things. Everything was splended. Maybe more english-speaking channels in the TV, if I should dig out something at all in contrast the all the positiv things.

Good 4-star hotel at attractive ski-area. Easy acces to Val Thorens but more familair in Les Menuires. Easier with car. The hotel was very comfortable, easy acces to the pist. Very co-operatible and nice staff.

Breakfast coffee was very poor. Internet password was not valid on the day of check-out which was very inconvenient as we couldnt do a check in for our flight.

Proximity of the slopes, big rooms, cleaning service, good breakfast (apart from coffee)

It is not something you should consider as a disadvantage, but it is better to know in advance while planning your trip / stay, that this hotel is from '70/'80 with some improvements and maintanance along the way. You have all what is needed, comfy and clean room with all amenieties - it's just overall you might feel it is slightely outdated, but on the other hand have a lot of charm.

+ Very good location, just in front of the ski slopes, c. 70m to main gondola + you may ski directly to the hotel entrance once coming back; conveniently located ski lockers (lack of heaters / dryers for the ski boots though). + In close proximity to restaurants, bars, ski rentals, shops etc. - all within 70m tops + Tasty breakfasts with a broad selection of dishes + Splendid views on the Val Thorens region

Poor entrance - no help with luggage despite limited drop of facilities competing with Sherpa store. Staff did not mention reduced fee for swimming pool. The fridge in our room did not work.

Well designed upside down hotel. Very comfortable beds and good bathroom. Access to local pool and wellness centre - remember to ask for the discounted entry. Plenty of local restaurants if you like melted cheese. Easy access to slopes.

Beds a little uncomfortable, not enough pillows but as soon as we asked for more we were given some.

Meals in the hotel are quite pricey, so eat in the cheaper restaurants in the resort.

The location is priceless. The ski lockers and bar are on the top floor, from which you walk across a bridge and straight onto the slopes. The bar has a huge log fire, seating indoors and out, and free snacks every evening. The mattresses are really comfortable, and the mountain view from the rooms is spectacular. When you leave, you don't have to check out until 12:00 and they'll store your luggage for the rest of the day.

Cleaning stuff regularly forgot to bring water to the room and new toiletries. Even if you tell them one day, it doesn’t mean they will do it tomorrow. That was I guess the only problem during my stay

The location was great, near to Bruyeres1 ski lift, supermarket and to other shops/restaurants. Stuff (especially girls on reception) were so nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, it can be better, I mean there is absolutely the same menu everyday, and on the 3rd day I just wanted something different; but still it was good!

Went for dinner at the hotel, first to sit down at 7pm with children. Great meal, then we ordered dessert after the meal. We waited 50 minutes as we watched everyone else receive their dessert. We told them we were leaving, then they offered it for free but we declined. We were after a timely meal not a free meal. Disappointing service.

We had originally gone for half board however found dinner to be quite average. Luckily there’s a couple of great restaurants in the village and we were able to cancel halfboard easily.

Great location! The ski room is just a few steps away from the slopes, the ski hire shops, ski school and restaurants are also just round the corner. The staff were always happy to help with any query. Really enjoyed the happy hour and apperitifs in the bar each evening too.

Ski room is very small (lockers take up almost entire space) - only 2 lifts serving whole of hotel which led to long wait times at peak hours (or climb up 5 storeys of stairs from room to ski room).

Really comfortable room, with nice mountain view. Great value for money at the end of the ski season; hotel is located just a few steps from the ski slopes over a bridge. Perfect for a few days stay.

In general it is a nice hotel to spend a night or two. I came for the price and weekend skiing. My impression is that the four stars are a too generous for the facility! For sure not even close to 3 or 4 stars of any Austrian or Italian hotel!

This hotel is pretty dated and the rooms are pretty small and in need of a renovation. The wellness area is super small and not comfortable for relaxing. The pick up and drop off space is impossible to use as people leave their cars parked there and it is really difficult to get in and out of the hotel to load luggage into our vehicle. They need to manage the pickup and drop off space. Check out is 12 noon which is ok but to only have one staff member on duty between 1130 and 1200 makes no sense. I would not stay here again.

Great location with access to the lifts and the free bus to the other villages.

    (1) Check-in - check out process was very lengthy and the reception staff was unfriendly; (2) We are a family of 5 (2 adults - 3 children) - we asked for 2 connected rooms several weeks prior to arrival but were assigned two separate rooms on the 8th floor instead; (3) FYI- A section of 8th floor rooms are located directly below the reception & the restaurant areas- Very loud from about 7am to 11 pm; (4) No free parking and no space to unload / load luggages (loading area is almost always taken by other cars); (5) Ski lockers are poorly set up - very narrow / single person hallway and lockers are too small and can barely accommodate 2 pairs of skis / shoes) - Per the above, we will not come back and do not recommend l'Hotel des Bruyeres.

    Nothing.

The ski slopes were 30 yards from the hotel, connected directly by a walkway. Free tea was on tap at reception day and night. Parking was under cover (crucial when 60cm of snow fell in one day). All rooms had balconies, and a fabulous view across the valley. The bar, restaurant, steam room, sauna and gym were all good.

The restaurant degraded as compared to previous years, the menu has fewer choices, expensive for the quality provided. The new year dinner was 115Eur per adult & 50 Eur per child, quality was low, children could not eat anything, a disco was organised at the bar, not a good idea as families could not stay, too noisy and not good taste, last years it was organised in a much better way. Despite the resto problem we continue to like very much the hotel.

Many employees at reception and restaurant, were unhelpful and sometimes even rude! It looks like there is very little training and accountability for the service performance of those people. The cleaning of the hotel (both public spaces and rooms) suffers a lot. The hotel website is completely misleading. They lie about hotel standard which is definitely not 4 stars (maximum that I would give is 3 to 3.5 stars). They had a sort of renovation some time ago,but it has not been consistent and with high quality materials (it looks as at a certain point in time the money has finished ...). Compared for instance with Hotel Val Thorens which is rated at the same 4 stars, there is a big, big gap between the two hotels. Also in comparison to 4 stars hotels in sky areas in Austria and Italy there is also a big gap.

The location close to the sky slope was a good point. The hotel manager was very helpful and supportive in certain instances, but he and some other two - three staff people in the hotel are the positive exceptions, and they could not change at all the overall impression. It's pity for their effort!

Room for 2 was a bit small

Proximity to ski hill, restaurant and shops. Comfortable beds. Great view of mountains from window and balcony

Great location to enable us to spend the weekend skiing in Val Thoren - literally a 5min drive away. Also loved having a real duvet quilt rather than blankets!

Under cover parking is quite expensive per day but 'free' parking is available near to the hotel if you don't mind a short walk uphill. Ski locker is a bit cramped and could be awkward if busy but you can fit 4 pairs of skis and 4 sets of poles despite previous comments.

Hotel has an air of quality about it and price I paid was very reasonable. It is in a quieter area than Croisette (15 mins walk away) but still has great access to ski slopes and a good choice of bars, shops and restaurants. There is even a small supermarket 10 metres from the entrance !
