You would need a car as the nearest village with a bakery was 6 km away

It was in a small village but great access to numerous cycle friendly roads as well as some ev routes. The house was spacious and well equipped with secure parking, a swimming pool and a beautiful garden. The hostess lived next door so she was available if you needed anything but not intrusive

We liked everything…If there is something amiss the hosts know their craft and will make sure whatever is askew will be promptly fixed…

The location is a classical French village — complete with church bells from morning till evening — a mellifluous sound…The home is in a park-like setting and the owners exude pride and experience; they are there if you need them but will respect your privacy fully…Warning: lots of beautiful low beams…watch your head! The kitchen is large and fully equipped — buy your food before you arrive…the nearest food stores (Intermarchè) are a 12-minute drive…

The gite is within the property of the owner; the end of the house is the gite and therefore their personal terrace is within a few feet of the gite, their kitchen overlooks its entrance and the gite external furniture, a table and 2 benches, was in a small courtyard on the side of the property in the shade. They kindly let us use their comfortable seating in front of the gite door in the sun, as we made the mistake that it was part of the gite but we understand this is normally theirs for use. They kindly accept dogs, but note the gates of their secured garden open when the dog approaches letting them onto the road. Their cat is sometimes in the garden and the owner came out to tell us that it does not know dogs. I am not sure if the dogs are allowed normally to sniff in the garden, we took ours out on many walks to try to prevent is needing to rely in any way on using the garden. . The owner came to chat to us several times whilst we were relaxing outside. We were told the pool was closed on arrival- I missed that information when booking. Overall, I hadn't read the description well enough and thought I had booked a private property with a private garden. I didn't realised it was shared or the owners - if I had realised we would not have booked as we like to have thar comfort.

Beautifully decorated property, amazing garden. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely linens, very comfortable beds. Friendly welcome with eggs, wine and even a freshly baked cake, really very kind. Fabulous access to great walks, pretty villages, Armagnac domaines and spas. Main bedroom was so comfortable and carefully decorated, all the windows and shutters worked well and the spacious bathroom had a large bath and seperate shower.

Very generous and thoughtful hosts who were a pleasure to meet. Location was brilliant for attending a wedding at Chateau de Briat and sightseeing local towns.
