Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I didn't like was thee short flight of steps from the street door to reception with my cases, but there were lifts to the other floors from there.
The hotel was extremely well located for getting to the venue location for my business trip. It was also well located for accessing the centre of Aix en Provence and I felt perfectly safe navigating on foot between the hotel and the many restaurants for dinner in the evening. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the cost of the two night stay was extremely competitive. The room was small but very well equipped and clean. The room was sold as a small room so I knew what I was getting beforehand. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice was on offer. The hotel was quiet at night so a peaceful sleep was enjoyed. Check-in and check-out was straightforward and all-in-all I enjoyed my stay.

FranceWhile it is great that the location is close to the old town and the centre, I felt uneasy at night in this location. There’s a bus stop near the hotel where it could be a little scary at night. There were also groups of men behind the property in the other hotel at around 11:30 PM - midnight and they were loud so I was bit nervous, especially since the gate of the hotel doesn’t lock and require a code until midnight, so anyone could just walk into the hotel if they wanted to. Overall, if the security could be improved that would make the stay here better. This was a great stay and the staff went over and beyond to make my stay nice.
The room was very nice and comfortable. It was perfect for a solo traveler. I liked the room’s colors and vibe. It’s also great that this hotel was in the center of Aix-en-Provence and within 5-10 minute walking distance to la Vieille Ville of Aix. There were many restaurants nearby and cafés that were great. Loved the view from the hotel window!! I was on the troisième étage and the view was wonderful, especially for the inexpensive price. The breakfast was great. It was 15€ but worth it and so delicious. I stayed in Aix for one night and had a great time.

United KingdomThis is a lovely hotel and it's the second time I've stayed here because of it's perfect location just outside the old town and close to the university where my son is studying for a term. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would recommend staying in the main building on the third floor as you get a lovely view over the rooftops. The rooms are small but very cosy and there's good wardrobe space. Traffic is busy in the morning but the balcony doors are well insulated. We didn't have breakfast here as tended to go into town and have a coffee and croissant on one of the squares, but you can have breakfast in the small hotel cafe area.

IrelandWe had one continental breakfast & it was very disappointing with poor quality food on offer at €14 each. Better to have breakfast in nearby cafe for €4.
It was so quiet & peaceful despite the horrendous motor cycle noise on busy main road outside. 10 min walk to Cours Mirabeau was good too. We enjoyed our stay here & loved Aix en Provence.
