The breakfast could have been better. We arrived 30 min before the closure and not all choices were available anymore. However the staff let us finish without rushing us.

We had special requests prior our arrival that the staff took fully under consideration - which was more than appreciated since it is to often the case. The Grand Hotel is very well located, facing the train station and at walking distance from the city center and the old town part.

the decoration is past its day and some rooms the beds were a bit old. The rugs were old and basically the hotel was once a really elegant hotel but that was in days past. Today its OK and I guess value for what you are getting is right

Parking should have been explained more, we thought it was parking on site, but it is in an underground car park, although only a two minute walk, is a public car park.

The breakfast was basic, but good. More fresh fruit salad would be nice. Room and bed excellent, as was the shower

    - we arrived late without a booking to be told the only room in the hotel was a suite at 164 euros. We weren't prepared to pay that, so popped outside and looked on booking.com. sure enough there was a room 50 euros cheaper, which we booked online and came back in. We weren't impressed not to be given a clearly available room immediately - it seemed deliberate. - the room itself was simple, with dated decor. For the price, which didn't include breakfast, it wasn't value for money. We wouldn't stay at that hotel again.

It was clean and well located. The room was a decent size.

Corridors had dirty carpets. In general didn't find the hotel overly clean. Breakfasts were of a DIY theme, even had to boil your own eggs.No staff about at all! Parking handy opposite in underground station, but a bit of a nightmare to find a space.Travel light is the best option..Make sure you pay at hotel reception as you will get a discount.

This hotel was probably grand once! We did get an upgrade to a superior room.Which was good, but very dark and no view. But a modern bathroom which was better..Tours is a nice city lots of atmosphere in the old part, also walkable from the hotel.

The rooms are set up strange with oversize beds. I'm talking larger than super king. Four people would be comfortable in one bed. Yet space elsewhere was crammed. Some bathrooms the toilet you needed to use sideways as it was squeezed in the corner of between basin and shower. The staff at night were next to useless. A bar and restaurant advertised but not accessible due to business functions.

Location to train and tram great. Very good cycle storage. Rooms were clean. Daytime staff just wonderful no matter what the requirement and had no problem shifting our room at checkin. Night staff need to be fired. Manager very helpful. The larger rooms are best if you want to pay out.

Had issues with the key card, almost daily. The card was kept away from cell phones and credit cards but still demagnetized. During my stay I had 4 cards and each were re-set at least twice. Frustrating after a long day having the need to go back to reception, more often than not having to then wait to be seen. Not such a big deal if it happens once, but constantly, not good!

The room was so small the bed filled the room and there was no room to move around/store luggage. The toilet was in a separate room to the sink and bath/shower and were too small. The room was in a poor state of repair and not as dipicted in the photos online. The breakfast was very disappointing, the hot food selection was minimal, cold and tasted dreadful. Tea making facilities had to be requested as they were not provided in the room on arrival. The air conditioning was so noisy and the room smelled musty. The view looked out directly into flats opposite where noisy residents meant the windows had to be kept closed although could still be heard late into the night. Reception staff were not at all interested in hearing or resolving these issues.

While I understand the hotel wants to keep to the 1920's Art Deco theme do you really need to maintain that standard in the bathroom towels and bed pillows they all needed replacing in our room, we stayed in what was classed as a comfort double room the space in the room was expectionally spacious but the standard of pillows and towels let the stay down dramatically.

Breakfast was good, location was good, close to tourist information centre where the la petite train is, cost 6.50 euros for a ride of about 40mins that helps to get your bearings of the city with out having to walk much.

I have to admit that I could not criticise anything.

As I as heading off on a long car journey when I left hotel, I really appreciated the excellent & copious breakfast with the result that I drove to my destination (7 hours later) without requiring a snack stop. With such a long journey ahead of me, these things mean a lot to the client. On my next journey in the region I would definitely book into Le Grand Hotel. Its central location permitted me to make a brief sightseeing trip. I also appreciated the Chareau lights in the lobby.

Need a soap dispenser at the sink instead of just over the bathtub and in the shower. Also, need some type of counter around the sink to place toiletries and some type of shelf in the shower stall for shampoo, etc. Rooms could use some updating.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and provided a local map of the city and some directions to several chateaus. Breakfast room staff were efficient and provided a nice breakfast offering each day although it was the same everyday there was enough variety to accommodate. Hotel is older and rooms are a bit dated but the superior level room was an adequate size (not sure about the lower tier rooms) and the bathroom was fairly spacious. The only parking was off site at an underground garage about a block away which was convenient and cost about $9 Euros per day, you could drop off luggage on the pedestrian walk way in front of the hotel and swing around the corner to park. Location was fairly convenient but was a little further than I would have liked for the old town area where we ate and drank, it was a good 15 - 20 minute walk down to the old town plaza (Place Plum) but there were some other cafes just about 3-4 blocks away that were nice as well. Overall this is a good location whether you're riding the train or driving.

More of an preference than a dislike . . . Would have been handy to have coffee/tea facilities in the room, but with cafes so close, it didn't really matter too much.

Having stayed before didn't hesitate to book again. It is ideally situated in the centre of Tours, directly opposite the magnificent train station building and within a very short walking distance to the tram and main shopping centre. WiFi is probably the only weak thing we've noticed, everything else was great.

Old and stylish hotel in the very center of Tours. Just next to the train station, walking distance (~10-15 min) to the old town. We had a problem with wifi in our room, apparently it was too distant from the router. Fortunately we've got another room next day, more spacious and higher class (thanks for that!). Both rooms were very comfortable and clean anyway. We didn't use breakfasts, there are plenty of cafes and stores around. Hotel has a special rate at DaVinci undeground parking next to it (iirc 8 EUR/night), but if you leave early you may just park for free 7(8?)PM-9AM on streets nearby.
