Bathroom and some room facilities a bit old; also the hotel lobby did't look too nice. All together a bit too expensive for what it was

There was no top sheet on the bed, only a thick duvet, in high summer temperatures not acceptable, so sleeping at night was not pleasant. Breakfast overpriced, and charges for extra items, which are usually included. Some of the receptionists were unhelpful. One of them on my arrival repeatedly gave incorrect information about restaurants availability, and as it was a Sunday when most restaurants are closed, this was crucial. He told me the hotel restaurant was open at 7pm and repeated this, so when i went back to the resaurant and knocked on the door and asked them to let me in at 7.15 they were annoyed. He also repeatedly told me that a particular restaurant on the same street would be open, and it wasnt.

    The bed was comfortable

It’s a shame the WiFi was so fiddly. I eventually succeeded in connecting an iPhone. We also had two Samsung devices but never managed to connect them - the reception staff tried hard to help but eventually failed. Seriously, sort that, guys - you’re perfect in every other way.

Perfect location in a a narrow alley slack bang in Montpellier’s old town. Very well-appointed too. The staff were very helpful. It even provides fresh copies of the New York Times - my favourite.

Montpellier is closing off parts of the city to traffic, and that caused a few problems, but once we found the Arc de Triomphe car park, it was only a 5 minute walk to the hotel, and discounted parking.

A lovely old hotel situated behind the cathedral in an old part of Montpellier. Narrow, cobbled streets, good breakfast which can be taken in the dining room, in the sun room or on the terrace. Bonus is a super bistro and restaurant next door to the hotel.

Problem was not with the hotel it was getting to it in the first place. The hotel is located down a ally with no vehicular access at all. You will need to carry your baggage from the underground public car park approx. 300 meters away. Do not go by car to this hotel. The roads in Montpellier have limited access and pop up traffic bollards that allow some council/ residents traffic through but not me! My 2017 updated Sat-Nav kept sending me to restricted roads. Absolute nightmare!

Our room 121 had great view of the cathedral across the tree tops. The room was very nice if a little lacking in wardrobe and drawer space. Bathroom nice and clean. The breakfast was very nice and served out doors on a patio. Been English eating any meal out of doors it raining is special.

A hotel of this standard should have had a safe box in the bedrooms. We hired a car. Almost unusable within the historic centre (hire a small one if you must). And the roads outside but close to the Centre were a nightmare. Even with good maps and sat nav we regularly got lost and took 45 mins plus for a fairly close journey, due to bad signposting, no left turns, pedestrian zones etc. First principal we learned was "usually ignore 'Toutes Directions' signs", as there's probably a better way. They're just trying to get you out of the town.

The breakfast was excellent, although broadly similar every day. The reception staff and the breakfast staff were most helpful and cheerful. The en-suite bathroom was well-equipped with a very good shower. The hotel was situated on the edge of the historic centre with most significant buildings, eateries etc within walking distance. We used Eurostar and TGV. Eurostar was very good, TGV very poor, even though we bought 1st class tickets. The catering is far better on SouthWest Trains!

Dirty stained carpet. Very basic small room. Room next door had a smoker in it which made our room stink too. Did request a non smoking room but might as well have invited him into our room to smoke. It stank. Went to reception to ask for another room but no one was there. Ended up leaving and going to another better hotel. Don't stay here. The pictures on Booking.com look nothing like the room.

I was disappointed not to be in rooms like the ones in the photo. Ours were tiny and quite old fashioned, though it is a very old building and great to be there, inside the old city, which we all loved. Maybe pay a bit more and get bigger brighter rooms? We only stayed one night, and would liked to have at least 3, as Montpellier is lovely.

It was a great privilege to be staying in the old part of the town, so near the cathedral. Location perfect...but do take note of the parking arrangements, so you park first, and then walk a short way through the narrow street to the hotel. The car park is just through the Archway as you drive into the old city.

Location was good. Cleaner was exceptional. Nice small window with view of Saint Pierre cathedral. Woke to lovely sunny weather everyday. Easy access to Sete by train and local beach by tram/bus. Both journeys only took 20/30 mins. Public transport exceptional. Our room had a separate entrance which suited us very well. Lovely smell of bread from the boulongerie a couple of doors away, which was handy and opened twice a day. Lovely local restaurants enjoyed in fountained squares. All in all a lovely historic city with many interesting cobbled streets, including this hotel was rather special.

We missed the stair railing. For older people it might be difficult to go down safely by the stairs.

The room was big and very nice decorated. The bed was very good, not too soft or too hard. The staff was very, very nice. Our compliments!!

No safe in room. Hotel difficult to access by car. Better park the car in Arc de Triomphe car park and locate hotel on foot.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Right in old Historic Town Centre. Good sized room for a city hotel.
