The only little thing I would say as a negative was the bathroom was downstairs and it was a little hard going down the narrow spiral steps early in the morning.

It was an enjoyable stay in such a lovely location. The owners were extremely lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast each morning was sensational!

The only thing we didn't like is that we wished we had booked for longer to explore in Lyon more and to enjoy this fantastic property for longer.

Gorgeous accommodation in a beautiful facility with a perfect location for exploring Lyon. Mimi and Nicolas were exceptional hosts. Mimi answered the phone right away when we called as we were running late, was so patient with my halting French and was so warm and welcoming. Nicolas came out to greet us and drove with us to find the parking area as the road where the B&B was located was under construction and we never would have found it otherwise. Very unique room up stone staircases, featuring a spiral staircase to a private luxurious full bathroom on the lower level. Fantastic breakfast in a room with French doors out to the garden, delicious fresh coffee, breads, fruit salad, beautiful table linen and dishes. Mimi also helped us with suggestions for dinner at a great local bistro just steps away.

The only minor issue for us as there isn’t a separate shower, only a bath with a hand held shower attachment, which makes it difficult to shower properly. But this wouldn’t stop us staying there again.

Really beautiful place to stay. Fantastic location, lovely hosts, great breakfast, quieter part of Lyon. All in all a wonderful stay

Nothing, we would recommend this property if you are staying in Lyon.

Our hosts Mimi and Nicholas made us feel comfortable and welcome. Waking up to Mimi’s breakfast to start the day was a treat! The property is a short downhill walk to Old Lyon and the fenicular brings you home. Restaurant options nearby. Quiet garden area to work from or relax in. Great value for money.

The stairs to the room were a bit tricky to negotiate, if you had a big suitcase. The shower over the bath took a bit of working out.

We were made so welcome. The room was really spacious. Fabulous coffee table books to browse through. Breakfast was a real treat and a great selection of homemade products. Mimi was a joy. She recommended places to visit, eat etc. It’s location is great if you want to explore the old part of Lyon.

The property is in a brilliant location at the top of a hill which leads down to the old town. House and garden are full of character and beauty. mMimi and Nicholas are charming genuine hosts, who prepared a lively breakfast each morning. Lyon is a wonderful city, so our stay could not have been better.

Coffee machine leaked, toilet seat needs fixing, entrance and stairs up to the rooms could use some cleaning up.

Great hospitality. Mimi is a fantastic host. Located up the (steep) hill of St. Just - thankfully there is the cable car, otherwise it would be very, very hard to go back and forth to the tourist areas of the city. Coming down the stairs to the superb breakfast table she has prepared is a true delight. (And when we were there the weather was so-so, thus no breakfast in the garden ... when you can have breakfast in the garden, we assume it will be even better). The big suite is comfortable, the bed is good. Please be aware that there are many steps to reach your room ... and that the entrance and staircase doesn't look like the Ritz-Carlton ... but the friendly welcome, the attentive service make up for that. A few things need fixing (the coffee machine in our room leaked, the toilet seat was loose ...) - it really feels like staying at your favorite cousins' house. The warmth of the welcome makes you forget the few details that are not perfect. We used the garage (which is not close by, so do not forget anything in the car ...), but are not sure we would do so again (street parking is available, and free on Sundays and holidays).

The building is fully renovated with quality materials and with respect for history. The location is right next to Le jardin des curiosités, wich gives you a wonderful view over the city. The funicular cable cart station is almost next door and it conveniently brings you to the city center in a couple of minutes for the price of a bus ticket. To reach the rooms from street level, some stairs have to be taken. While this will not be an issue for most of us, some may find it a challenge. The owners are keen to provide all information you need and know how to make your stay a great experience. Bedding is excellent and the garden is a hidden oasis in a hectic city.

Not having more time to spend there.

Mimi and her husband provided us with one of the nicest stays we have ever had outside a 5* hotel. There are a few flights of stairs but the excellent rooms were well kept and comfortable and more than made up for the effort. Breakfast each morning was a fantastic start to the day and you can feel the effort she puts into ensuring her guests have a wonderful stay. Her local knowledge helped us a lot. Would highly recommend anyone visiting Lyon to stay at Le Jardin de Beauvoir.

Bath was a little small for me - but I am quite tall

Very welcoming. Great location - quiet but close enough to walk to most attractions and restaurants. The climb up the hill was generally fine - and the Metro was cheap and easy when energy levels were low. Breakfast great for replenishing those energy levels!
