The breakfast was very good - the scrambled eggs were a surprise, and perfectly cooked. The room was not as small as some Paris hotel rooms I have stayed in - we were very comfortable. The location was convenient to the Metro, to restaurants etc.

Second time at Le Marceau Bastille, that confirmed my first good impression. The room was very comfy and clean and the staff friendly and professional. My favourite place for a night at the opera.

Although there appeared to be provision for room service meals, the actual availability and choice was quite restricted.

The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable, with excellent facilities. The staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly, and the hotel was well-situated in terms of other restaurants, access to transport, etc. The breakfast provided a wide variety of different tastes.

They didn't really allow early check in which was difficult after a long overnight flight. Rooms are a bit small but otherwise efficient.

Breakfast was great and included in the price. Location is quite close to the subway and in a nice area. Rooms were clean.

The hairdryer was a bit dated but that was the only niggle.

Superb location within walking distance of sights, Metro stops, restaurants, bars and supermarket, but in a quiet side street. Room was bigger than expected given other reviews and I was pleasantly surprised by the bathrobe, slippers and very thick and large bath towels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good selection at breakfast. Even though I didn't use it I loved the idea of the honesty bar.

When I tried to book breakfast in the room having been out to dinner I was told to come back later after 10 pm to tell reception. I did that but it should not have been necessary.

Location ideal as arriving from Gare de Lyon so a short walk. Easy taxi booking for onward journey at reception.

Lighting. When this was remodeled, the EU standard was probably halogen lights. All over (elevator, lobby, breakfast seating) there was a flickering fixture. This is pretty annoying. We had one ceiling light flicker upon checking into our room. That would have drove us nuts. To their credit, it was repaired ASAP after our complaint. Small issue during a terrific stay, but time to upgrade to LED's

We stayed here when it re-opened (renovated)@ 2009. It was great then and every bit as great this time around. Highly professional staff. Dead silent room at night (courtyard view). The facilities still looked good after 14 years. Quirky neighborhood restaurants rounded out the stay.

My room was upgraded upon arrival, and the extra space was really nice to have! I loved that the hotel was located on a quiet side street, but still close enough to easily walk to restaurants, a supermarket, and the Metro. Wifi was OK for working, not great for facetime, but fine for emails and web browsing. Breakfast was great, and all staff were so friendly and helpful.
