How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewLocation was amazing, breakfast buffet was great
The clean bathroom had a disgusting smell coming from the drain of the shower or sink really bad. No instructions on how to find the reception which made the look for over hour to find and get keys for the room . Different location to where we booked.

Verified reviewHaving the chance to pass the night in Le Mont Saint Michel is priceless, it would be better to spend a little more having a renovated location, but the experience to sleep in the village is something to not miss.

Verified reviewGreat location to enjoy the island once the crazy crowds have left.
Very difficult to locate reception and then find the “annexed” location up the street. Room was teeny tiny - barely room to walk, and no closets, so we had to walk around our suitcases as well. No way to move air in the room, so we had no choice but to leave the window open to the street noise. Morning staff for the Island arrived at the Main Street at 4:30am to get ready for breakfast. We had a terrible nights sleep. We would recommend others to stay off the island and walk or shuttle there early to experience this magnificent place.

Verified reviewThe location on Mont St Michel and the view from the room
The stairs going up to our room very difficult for someone with mobility challenges. Also, not really any service from the guesthouse itself, but assistance was available from the nearby place to check-in

Verified reviewThe room was small but it didn’t matter as we just brought what we needed in a back pack and left the cases in the car overnight! The communication with the hotel was excellent and the staff at reception were amazing! Don’t bring your big bags! The parking in P3 was great as we only had to walk 20m to the bus!
The bathroom was tiny but for one night we didn’t care!

Verified reviewView at breakfast is breathtaking
Clogged sink in our room, poor wifi, dark / unpersonal room for 4 people. Personal in restaurant not particularly helpful (our rooms at Le Mouton Blanc where reached via a common door to a restaurant, hotel reception was in another building)

Verified reviewEverything was miserable, words can not describe how awful everything felt! A lot of money for big garbage! A horrible smell everywhere, everything was so dirty, couldn’t eat anything at breakfast, the cutlery was so dirty, spiderwebs were everywhere! Such a shame for the beautiful surroundings, because all the rest is a big mess, horrible smell, prices too high for nothing in exchange! Definitely will not go back!!! See you never!

Verified reviewGreat location, just in central. Nice and clean room.
The check in was delayed by an hour, no clear communication from the reception and no apologies from them.

Verified reviewThe location of this property was exceptional. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Being able to open the windows, during the height of summer, was a benefit.
The room was small but it was pleasant. Shower and basin needs attention as the shower leaked and there was no plug in the basin. Having to keep our window open to cool the room allowed more noise from the main street to affect our sleep.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent. Room was really good.
It was only when I went to access the car park that I noticed I wasn't sent the code. And then as a result I was charged the higher rate for parking.

Verified reviewIt was a good place to stay for an overnight at Mont St Michel. We had a quad room with four singles and it was comfortable. Rooms are small but the bathroom was updated and we were only staying one night so it was good.
Nothing, the room was clean and the bathroom updated

Verified reviewBed was very comfortable - lovely pillows, sheets and duvet! Breakfast was nice - with a view too! Check in staff were very accommodating, friendly and greeted us very kindly. Location was great - right in the centre of town. We had a lovely view over the roof tops to the see and land.

Verified reviewThe hotel was very dirty. The staff forgot to send parking cod, we spent an hour trying to call the staff and get this cod. We had a very nice view, but if you want to get some sleep, at 5 am all the restaurants start unloading empty containers and loading food and it's very loud.

Verified reviewThe property has three rooms and we were able to book them all, so we had a penthouse to ourselves with A/C which is essential in summer in France. The house is historic and has lovely antique details and yet provides modern comforts. The proprietors were very helpful. Clear communication. Good recommendations.
Would be helpful to provide recommendations on when and where to park.
