I had a short stay in Marseille alone enjoying the museums. Check-in was easy and the lady was very informative and explained to me the best places to visit in Marseille, which was very useful. The hotel is located very close to the old port, very easy to walk everywhere and a very short walk to the train station. The room was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. Thank you.

Room not really set out for work, desk would have been useful. Toilet separate from bathroom but that’s a result of building structure. Glad I was on 2nd floor not higher as steps are very steep.

Excellent and helpful staff- they took my bags to room while it was being prepared. Good room size with comfortable bed. Surprisingly quiet given central (convenient) location. Will happily return. Preferable to places on Vieux Port, much better value.

Nothing about the hotel could have pleased us more. Some people might not like the street it is in......

Quiet, modest but well-appointed. Boutique style with, as the name implies,a North African source. Attractive garden, good breakfast. Host extremely helpful and a thoughtful guide to Marseille.

Coffee machine in room didn't work. No plug in bath (they did solve this, but then came to ask for the plug back while Inwas in the nath!?!). Fly in sugar pot at breakfast and general feeling put me off what would probably have been a nice breakfast. Fridge in room didn't work (or hadn't been plugged in). General lack of attention to details that I would expect from even a 3 star establishment. A good idea badly executed.

The beds and pillows. Morrocan theme decor is pretty. Decor of bathroom attractive. Reception welcoming.

Room was quite small with very little space to put items - this meant little things like the broken towel hooks in the bathroom were a hassle. We left a hook out to be fixed but it was just put back in so immediately fell out again when a towel was placed out on it.

Nice place to stay with friendly hosts who were willing to share advice on places to eat and visit. Easy walking to all the major sites and numerous restaurants. Good to have access to outside space in a big city and rooms were nicely decorated.

Suggestions not criticisms 😄👍 TV signal didn't work but not really a worry for us as only one night. No drinking water in room so we had to buy some from round the corner. Always like a kettle in room to make tea but the hotel does do all sorts of tea for £5 a cup. Some people may be put off by the working girls in the street but they were subtlely dressed and friendly.

Large room and comfy bed. very helpful manager/0wner who allowed very early checkin and gave a very comprehensive area guide for our day in Marseille. Staff member walked us back to station in morning so we didn't get lost.

    - The issue of paying or not for the nespresso capsules should be addressed. I don't mind paying for extra capsules - indeed I'd rather pay for all nespresso capsules in the room than have no coffee or poor / instant free coffee - but this should be made clear from the start. Why not during check-in? Because instead I was left feeling like I have "gotten away with something" for free, or that the hotel has done me a special favour, which isn't really a correct way to make your guests feel. - It seems to me that it would make a lot of sense to fit some kind of door, or perhaps rather a curtain, across the bath (room 12, can't say if all rooms are like this). Because without, it's hard to take a shower without getting water all over the floor. Which leads to damp smell or very wet towels! Whereas a simple small curtain would prevent that.

    - Very spacious room great for our longer stay - Massive fan of having separate toilet and shower rooms! - Decoration/fittings (bed, tables, sink/bathroom, lighting..) all very nice. - nespresso machine in the room - good noise-proof windows - easy short walk to everywhere including less than 10 minutes from the train station.

I spent a great time in Marseilles thanks to Ryad. The staffs are adorable. They warmly welcomed me and gave me many useful tips for my trip. The room is spacious and well equipped. The breakfast is delicious with Moroccan crêpe, fresh bread, fruits and yogurt . Most importantly the ingredients are bought from local small businesses to which the hotel pays a particular attention.

There is a very loud discotheque not far down the street that went on all night (Thursday). The windows are pretty well insulated, but if I had to have them open it would have been extremely noisy. I hope my stay was an exception. I assume during cooler months the action stays inside!

Incredibly friendly staff; I fell sick during my stay and they treated me royally. I can't say enough about their attentiveness. Great room. Large and beautifully appointed. Wonderful bath. Lovely breakfast. Really good recommendations for what to see where in town. I followed their advice and was really happy.

The location of the hotel is not the best. The street has a very seedy feel there were lots of professional "ladies" in fur coats and little else working in the street and the main activities seemed to take place in the building opposite the hotel. Also lots of rubbish and generally not a nice atmosphere.lots of men hanging around a fast food place on the corner.

Its a characterful building with a north African theme. The room was spacious with a canopied bed and a bathroom with bath and a separate wc. Bed very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Lady on reception extra friendly and helpful. Kept our bags for a few hours after checkout. Lovely courtyard garden and a nice inside seating area.

The Ryad is really a hidden oasis in a bustling city centre. We had the room on the top floor - the Mogador - which, quoting the kind hotel manager, may not be the most beautiful, but nonethess the favourite. And that's true - the room is simple but tastefully decorated, with a large and superb terrace overlooking the rooftops of Marseille and Notre Dame de la Garde. The location of the hotel is great, in a quiet street just off the busy Canebière, some minutes away from the old port and just steps from a variety of tasty restaurants and wine bars in the Cours Julien area. Great breakfast in a quiet and meditative hotel garden - we'll definately be back.
