One or two minor maintenance issues in the bedroom. Although the premisis was small, we would have been happier with an extra staircase, though this can't easily be altered

Technical troubles with wifi. The room we were in could use some freshening up (foreseen this year or next, said the owner).

Good breakfast, definitely good price/quality ratio. Big family room with comfortable beds, basic but certainly ok if for 1 or 2 nights.

Slightly tricky to find (gps recommended). City centre is walkable, but its a reasonable distance. Take note that parking is in the street and metered from 9am to 7.30pm

Very good breakfast spread, better than normal for a budget hotel. Room was spacious. Staff are helpful. Great value for money and comfortable enough.

It really is a budget accommodation, located in an old neighbourhood hotel. In my room the shower cabin was next to the bed and the composting toilet was in a closet next to it. The main issue was the sound insulation : non existent, with paper thin walls. I was lucky, we were all quiet guests but you really are at the mercy of your fellow hotel-guests when it comes to noise.

The hotel is located close to the tram, allowing for easy access to the whole city. The historic centre and main railway station of Clermont-Ferrand are each an 8 minute walk away. The staff was really helpful and welcoming.

The bathroom in the room is not well organized, with the shower in a corner and the rest separated in a sort of small cupboard.

The location of the hotel is great, close to the train station and to the market of St. Joseph. The staff was welcoming and they were helpful about my late arrival (out of the reception opening hours).

The only problem was finding the place! Clermont-Ferrand is quite a bustling town, and street signs were few and far between. I would definitely recommend a GPS in this area. The hotel does not have 24 hour desk service. That wasn't a problem for us, but it's important to keep in mind if you need extra help or if you want to check out early in the morning.

Very nice staff. The room was small but very comfortable. Nice breakfast. It's in a decent neighborhood, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Close to the train station, which was an important consideration for us. And the price was great.

No lift; but with hotels in this sort of category the presence of a lift is always going to be a bit hit or miss. Slightly awkward shower in the room, but OK. A small point, but, end of season, and the hotel had run out of local town plans. It would have been helpful. C-F is quite a confusing town to find your way around. Be warned, there are no staff available if you arrive after 8pm. No problem if you phone ahead; you will be given a passcode to get in; just no-one to help you out.

Good basic local hotel. Helpful owner who offered to help me with my luggage - an offer which I foolishly refused. There are a lot of rather narrow stairs, and, as already stated, no lift. OK breakfast. Early check-out time, but no problem about leaving my luggage in reception for safe keeping. Close to the station - but study the instructions on how to get there carefully; I got seriously lost.

Whilst we had paid extra for 4 people, but just two staying, we still only got two towels and these weren't changed for our second day, which was a bit mean, especially as it was rainy so the towels stayed damp.

The hotel is halfway between the railway station and the centre of town. The owners are friendly, our room was a 2 bedroom setup for four people, the last available so we paid the extra. The layout was such that the second bedroom opened off the main, so the other occupants would need to walk through that room to get to the bathroom and toilet, OK if its your kids in the second room but probably a bit awkward for adults.

Not a dislike (problem) for us, but be warned - there is no lift, so it is 'lugging' bags up a maximum of three flights of stairs (the owner did offer to help, but we are still quite capable of coping ourselves)

This hotel was chosen for its location and price - at 53 euros a night it was excellent value for the basic room provided. Car parking was in the 'square' in front of the hotel and was cheap at 6.50 euros a day (but required a new parking ticket every few hours until 1900 hours). We did not use the breakfast option - we prefer to use local cafes for our morning coffee and croissant.
