Completely characterless, rather unattractive concrete building in spacious grounds on the very outskirts of St Mere. It has the air more of a city business hotel than a tourist destination but the room was quiet, modern and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. It would be a wee walk in but we had our bikes and ate in the village. The Airborne museum is definitely worth visiting as well as nearby Utah beach.

When we walked in to check-in the whole hotel wreaked of cigarette smoke. It permeated everything. It was disgusting. The bath tub was either stained or dirty. A continental breakfast should be included in the price or coffee in the room with the local biscuits they left us. Charging for breakfast when it should be included I find to be a bit of a gouge like paying for a checked bag or a seat on a flight when you bought the ticket.

Coffee was not included in the room and we ended up paying euros 9.5 for one coffee and one croissant after the manager relented after we explained to him that we thought coffee was included. He was conciliatory and charged us for one breakfast at 9.50 Euros.

It may be the time of year but nothing was open for food and drink after 830pm including the hotel!! We specifically chose it as it had its own bar but it was never open when we got back about 9pm

Not a fault but hotel was business man orientation, so meal times were fixed, breakfast finished at 9am and diner 20.30 hrs. When you are on a holiday not good, also the price of bet outrages, a 50 cl lager 7.90. I would not pay that in a5 star hotel in Dublin.

Great area to stay in. Booked for a rest but did not turn out that way. Dramatic history to area, see film " The Longest Day. Food good and reasonable price.

On the first of two nights we were told, after a long day visiting beaches etc (arrived at 8pm and had dinner), that bar closed at 10.30pm, which was OK, then second night told that it was closing at 10am and that we needed to - then and there - take drinks with us to lobby upstairs which was in darkness. Except for this awful customer service all was well regarding food, comfort etc.

Stayed here on 3 previous occasions and loved it, location is great.

The pictures of the property were very misleading. Rooms were small. Beds were VERY uncomfortable. Air conditioner did not work. Luckily it was cool outside and the window did open and we were not on the ground floor so felt safe opening the window at night. This is an out of date facility. A one star property.

There is no airconditioning in the hotel and the rooms get very stuffy even during relativly mild weather, requiring the room window to be opened for ventilation. This them exposes you to the noise from the nearby N13 highway which can be very load even in the middle of the night. The free wifi only appears to work well in the public areas with reception being very poor in the bedrooms.

The hotel is only a short walk from the town and is located close to the Exit from the N13 which makes it an ideal location for those transiting to and from the port at Cherbourg. The food in the restaurant is very good and at a reasonable price with daily choices on offer.

The child bed was a add in so didn't line up with the light switches on the wall behind the pillows, this meant that we kept turning on the lights in the middle of the night by accident, so broken sleep!! Also the menu wasn't great in the restaurant, and the staff had very limited English.

The hotel is fine, the staff were good but it was incredibly noisy all night. The room door was thin and had a large gap underneath so had next to no sound proofing. We heard people slamming doors as late as 1am and starting again at 6:30am, and talking as they went along the corridor. There was no kettle and none available from reception so you are kind of tied to their restaurant.

The restaurant was very good, which is just as well because the hotel is a short walk from the rest of the town and when we visited it was raining hard. The room was clean and although small it had comfortable beds and a decent bathroom.

One small criticism is no tea making facilities in the room but in fairness I never enquired at front desk as may have been available.

This is my fifth stay at this hotel and that should speak volumes. Friendliest staff that you could wish to meet, lovely comfortable and clean rooms and one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. All wrapped up in a superb price. If you're visiting the area, you must stay here or at least use the restaurant. 10 out of 10. Every time!
