Rooms badly need a refurb. Shower over bath = kneeling in bath! Breakfast not great and most expensive of our stopovers. Deli France croissants, lazy when great Boulanger in village!

Fabulous location. Great restaurant and views.

Nothing, it was perfect apart from the breakfast which could really be better for such an otherwise superb hotel. It was very much self-serve, no cooked options st all other than a boiled egg which you served yourself. This is in part a cultural difference - breakfast in England can be much more interesting, relaxed and substantial.

Fabulous views all around.Truly amazing standard of cuisine. Thomas main waiter - attentive and amusing without being intrusive. Wonderful pool. Lovely piano. Fabulous lunch on the terrace.

The location, in a tiny and very quiet midieval village, is stunning. The view of the surrounding hills is magnificent. Sandra and Cyril, the owners, were very welcoming and efficient. Great breakfast with some homemade pastries and a bottle of Clairette de Die, the local bubbly.

The wifi this year was not good and at one point we had to sit in reception to get a signal.

The room was lovely as was the excellent breakfast. Dinner was a delight in the open courtyard. The pool is very clean but quite deep if you are not a confident swimmer.

The beds are very, very firm and cooling in the rooms would help at the height of summer. An electric jug and fridge in the room would benefit travellers. Not everyone drinks coffee.

Les Hospitaliers is set within a 12th Century fortress. The views are absolutely stunning and the village of Poet Laval exquisite.

If you arrive by bicycle as we did, the hotel is at the top of a 15% slope! Bathroom and swimming pool decor a little tired. No shops or bars in the immediate vicinity but plenty in Dieulefit about 10 minutes away.

A beautiful building in the old ruined village of Le Poët-Laval. The hotel has fantastic views over the Drôme and is very quiet. The comfort rooms have their own terraces with table and chairs. Comfortable bed. Good wifi access. Very good restaurant with a terrace and views over the countryside. Good buffet breakfast but a little on the expensive side. Breakfast and checkout supervised by a very friendly lady. Secure storage for bicycles.

Would be better to offer a similar dinner menu as at lunch. We are not interested in eating "haute cuisine" other than on very specific occasions. This would have enabled us to avoid going into town to eat less formally and a lot less expensively.

No airco, so the rooms where extremely hot. Have not been able to sleep. No minibar or little welcome, but you pay top price. Service is not up to the standard of the price and / or the quality of the food. Very hard to get a drink anywhere. Have been thirsty all weekend. No service or towels by the pool. Somelier is used as a servant and the menu is hard to understand (messy). The drinks are extremely expensive and the winecard offers wines at prices that are ridiculous for a hotel / restaurant of this quality. The pretend to be something they are not.

The village, the ambiance of the hotel and it's surroundings. Very quiet during the night! Beaytifull view from the roof terrace. We liked the young staff, they where very good.

The food and wine were excellent but the service while enthusiastic struck us as a bit amateur.

Full of atmosphere, this place is not just a hotel but a part of a fascinating old village with a good museum as well.

No wifi in the room (room 4). Note: wifi was available in restaurant and on terrace (that is adjusted to room 4), but not inside of the room. Very bad service in restaurant: - waiter made a face behind me while I made picture of my wife. My wife was really unhappy, and we wanted to leave the restaurant immediately - wine was served in small glasses - waiter made fun on me when I asked in English an explanation of a worder in menu. He repeated same French word 3 times, and finally said that "in English it means cod, type of fish" - waitress burned her hand when she touched hot plate

Convenient place to stay one night between south of France and north. Food in the restaurant.

No proper shower facilities just a small shower head over the bath. Lack of (small area) space to write/work in the room Would expect a more friendly and welcoming reception

The location was excellent Beautiful views from the room windows

Service at dinner was somewhat erratic and unprofessional - perhaps just a one-off but a little disappointing given high expectations of the restaurant.

The hotel is set right in the heart of this extraordinary 11th-12th-century village in Provence, so the chateau and other old buildings are on your doorstep and well worth exploring. The interior of the hotel is modern but comfortable, and the views are wonderful. The pool is very refreshing after a long journey. The dinner was good but see comments on the service. It was lovely to eat under the midnight blue sky and stars and breakfast on the terrace was excellent.

The setting is superb as is the food and the breakfast. We had an upgraded room this year and it was huge.

Insufficient staff employed, thereby leading to unacceptable delays at Reception, and especially in the dining room. Very amateurish service in dining room and at breakfast. Lack of parking facility at hotel itself, resulting in us having to struggle with our over-night luggage up a rocky, uneven path and a cobbled path in excessive heat. Not being informed before arrival that there was a public concert being held in the evening at the hotel site. Lack of air- conditioning in room.Excessive cost of a no more than ordinary dinner. This is not a good stop for travellers.

    Leaving the next morning.

This hotel is a wonderful mix of a small friendly family run hotel and a 5* restaurant in the most elegant environment imaginable. It is sophisticated without being pretentious and we couldn't have been happier there. The only thing we missed was a kettle in our room but the lovely room service made up for it. The location is stunning and we had an absolutely perfect week. To complete the experience, the food was mind blowing.

Lots of stairs, and steps in the village, ok for us now but maybe not for the future.

The breakfast was excellent for France, fresh fruit, local apple juice, honey and yogurt as well as the bread and croissants and service with a smile.
