Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe view on the castle from the terrace is magnificent (especially when dining). Typical Logis hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms rather simple but with airco. Plain food that absolutely meets the expectations.

United KingdomThe dog was a bit much as it was urinating all around the gardens. Suggest you bring a kettle and tea and coffee as not provided in room.
Spacious room, air conditioning that works well, clean, friendly reception management. The hotel has an air of once grandeur but it’s a bit faded now but it is still nice. Faulty towers at its best.

United KingdomThe pool water could be skimmed more often during the day due to leaves and bugs. The restaurant and bar closed early at 10pm but that could be local requirement, I'm unsure if that's the case..
The pool had an amazing view of the surrounding landscape, which includes Najac Fortress. Easy parking outside of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaThe hotel is in a quiet valley next to a rushing river, with a view of the Najac chateau on the mountain opposite. It feels like a remote wild setting, but is quite close to Najac. There is bar and restaurant seating at the front to sit and admire the view. Our room had the view as well. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The room was comfortable.

United KingdomBreakfast was good but a bit expensive.
This hotel is a great place to relax after a strenuous walk to the old town and castle of Najac. The staff are very competent and welcoming. The restaurant is very good value and the swimming pool is a massive bonus. The bedroom was comfortable and although a bit dated there were still just sufficient outlets for our various phones etc to be charged.

FranceThe whole place felt tired, dated and in need of a makeover. The room felt cramped and unwelcoming and because of the very hot weather we were left with a choice of not sleeping because of the heat or not sleeping because of the very noisy air conditioning unit. We also felt slightly deceived by the description of the location in Booking.com as ‘500m from the centre’ but not mentioning it was a full 200m below the town of Najac.
On-site parking, dining room and terrace. And peaceful setting.

The Belle Rive is a lovely hotel in a superb location. Staff are friendly and facilities are good. There is a wonderful pool to enjoy. There is nothing quite as lovely as sitting out in the evening enjoying the stunning food that this hotel offers - simply the best!!!!

United KingdomBreakfast - see below!
Friendly hosts. Rather dated, though a clean & comfortable room with a lovely view over the river & château. Dinner was expensive but excellent. Breakfast, however, was far from good, not least as nearly everything was stale - this could have been an exception as we were the only guests in the breakfast room...& possibly the hotel!

United KingdomGood location by the river and views of the chateau at Najac from our bedroom window and the terrace where we had dinner. An uphill, but simple walk to the chateau from the hotel. It’s a traditional, old fashioned French hotel, we knew this from previous reviews so were happy with the decor and evening meal.
