The property is a restored farmhouse located in a quiet and idyllic spot near the Rance River outside of Dinan. Lovely gardens and rooms with views of the countryside and river make it a beautiful and relaxing setting. The owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but very good.

Patrick is a great host. Great place for a family as they have rooms with a loft for kids. Great location between a Dinan, San Malo and Dinard. Very relaxing.

We thought the photo of the Manoir in Alistair Sawdays Guide did not do justice to the layout and beauty of the whole place.

    every thing was excellent.

It is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are all beautifully appointed and the atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. Patrick the host was willing to share his knowledge of the history of the area and, in particular, St Malo.

Its relative isolation was both and advantage and limitation. The B&B is in a beautiful place but you need to drive to find an evening meal.

This is an attractively renovated small manor type building around an open courtyard. The surrounding area is attractive and overlooks the River Rance in the distance. Patrick, the owner, was always helpful and friendly; and gave very useful advice on nearby tourist spots and the best way to get there and park.

    Can't think of any negatives.

The owner, Patrick, couldn't be more helpful. The Continental breakfasts are wonderful -- best croissants on our trip. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the Rance river and ideally situated to explore all the places you want to visit on Brittany's Emerald Coast.

Not much to improve on here. Perhaps a kettle for tea or coffee in the room, and slightly faster wifi would be good (for fellow parents of teenagers who feel faint at the thought of more than 15 minutes away from a screen)!

Super large room (room 20), clean, amazingly comfortable bed. Beautiful, quiet location with lovely view over River Rance. Kind hosts. Lovely green space. Our second visit.

Internet (WIFI) connection can be better; it is hard to connect. The shower in the bathroom has no curtain so that the floor gets completely wet (it's a pity actually for such a nice hotel).

Good hotel, very friendly owner, nice room to stay. Not far away to St-Malo, Dinard, Cancale and Dinan.

Needed better directions to find it. It is a bit out of the way. But worth the effort.

Excellent, beautiful location on the water, rural. Very well kept, with a great staff

The bed was slightly uncomfortable for my wife - slightly hard. For those drinking tea at breakfast, only Tetley tea appeared to be on offer - not very French when 'the vert' appears on many menus! Otherwise breakfast was very good.

The room was very nicely situated with a small private sitting area and lovely view of the lawn. The grounds were lovely and the courtyard very nicely done with flowers. The room was very well appointed with generous furnishings, hanging space for clothes, drawer space for clothers, space for luggage, a table and two chairs. Room lighting was good. French windows with an outer blind enabled good air circulation at night. The bathroom was very well appointed, with plenty of space and a bath with shower attachment. Mr Van Valenberg, the owner, was very attentive to guests' needs and spoke good English as well as letting us try some French.

Wonderful location with a very welcoming and personable host. Very comfortable room in a beautiful old manor house.Generous breakfast. Although the nearest restaurant is about 8 kms away, the Manoir has a bar and Patrick the host makes a delicious croque monsieur!

    I highly recommend this place.

It is a beautiful hotel outside of the city. The room was really nice with a great view of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was great The owner/manager was very helpful and extremely cordial. His 20 month old daughter was delightful.

The shower was excellent but there was nothing to stop the bathroom floor getting flooded - only a minor irritation...

Excellent location for exploring the area - there are plenty of fantastic beaches a short drive away. The setting was very peaceful with great views over the Rance river - the photos don't do it justice. The room had a double bed and two singles on the mezzanine above - perfect for our 6 year old daughter. Patrick was charming and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We had a wonderful stay.

No coffee pot in the room. Had to buy a pot of coffee from host which was 5E (reasonable) and nicely delivered to room. Just inconvenient for us. Also, there was no place without going quite a few kilometers in the car to eat or get coffee.. Its a trade off, peace, quiet, beauty, but not as convenient to other things.

We liked that the setting was peaceful with lovely views. The shower was great with plenty of hot water. Proprietor helpful and nice. The room and bedroom was large enough and included a table and two chairs. Plenty of outdoor seating and just nice overall facilities.
