The only draw back was the lugging of the suitcases from the car into the room up a fair few beautiful segment marble stone steps. Not their fault. We are getting too old for loads of stairs. A young bell boy would have been handy.

Could not fault the place. Friendly staff. Imposing building and grounds. Tasty breakfast.

Nothing, even the Sat Nav found it

We loved the whole ambience of the place, from the house and rooms to the garden. Breakfast was excellent which is unusual for France. They even had seperate timers for boiling your eggs. Loved it.

Bed wasn't as large as we like, nor that comfortable, but for younger people it would be fine. Location is very rural and though directions were clear, it might be a bit tricky in the dark.

Very helpful and welcoming host with excellent English. Manor house felt very French. Simple but very good breakfast. Very spacious bedroom, modernised bathroom.

It is difficult to find. The map supplied by Booking . com on booking is inadequate. However the owner sends an email with better particulars a few days before you are due to arrive. Read this email carefully (which we carelessly did not) because without it you will get lost!

A lovely quiet French manor house, with gardens, easy parking and friendly hosts. A beautiful, comfortable room with adequate bathroom and fresh french breakfast . Strongly recommended.

A gorgeous, beautifully restored manoir with a personal and warm welcome. Convenient for us on the way to Cherbourg - a couple of minutes off the main road, but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. A real gem of a discovery and we will be back every time we pass his way.

The whole house has been flawlessly restored (architectural eye candy) and there are several rooms which guests can use to relax in so it's brilliant for groups. The gardens which are also meticulously maintained contain an eclectic collection of hydrangeas and an orchard. Going upstairs has a whole new appeal when it's a 15th century stone stairwell. The breakfast buffet is composed of locally produced dairy treats and off-the-scale viennoiseries. Staying here was just sumptuous.

    Nothing at all

This was the most stunning B & B that we have ever stayed in. The quality of the property, furnishings and fittings were amazing. Large beautiful grounds were a dream to walk around. There were two residents lounges, one peaceful for reading and another with Satellite TV. The host Eric, did everything possible to make our stay perfect. I just wish we had stayed for longer.

Authentic building with large rooms in a beautiful surrounding. The enormous garden is extremely well kept, and a perfect place to relax. Simple but good breakfast with local products. The owner is very friendly and has a chat with everyone at breakfast. Valognes has a perfect central location to make a trip to Cherbourg, La Hague, St-Mere-Eglise, Utah beach. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it even more!
