Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRestaurant was good but a little expensive. Hotel's car park was expensive , although not a problem as alternatives availalbe.
Staff were exceptionally good. They were at least bilingual (their English much better than our French!) and they were very helpful with tourist suggestions and information. Plentiful public parking adjacent to the hotel.

FranceThe room decoration was not really to my taste (a lot of red) but it was practical. We did not have a bathrobe or slippers in the room so had to change in the changing room of the relaxing area, a bit cramped and not very nice looking, but that's a detail.
Staff very welcoming and caring. Big and comfy bed, good sized TV, nice bathroom. We enjoyed very much the relaxing area: jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and hammam were all included in the price and worked well. The restaurant (where we took our dinner and breakfast) is overlooking the Loire river, and offers a good variety of choices with relaxed and very competent service. As you can expect in this region, advices on wine choice are always 'spot on' :) The covered parking was also good for us, even though public car parks are available all around.

NetherlandsSeems to be fully focused on business travel & groups. Not much interest / hospitality from staff towards individual travellers. No relaxed breakfast. Constant hassle from staff around the tables preparing lunch (at 9:15?). Dogs allowed in the restaurant (??). Quite a difference compared to Mercure Saumur.
Room facilities. Nice bar area. Good location.

GuernseyBit of a long way from the centre on foot. Breakfast can be a little chaotic when there are bus tours. Nice swimming pool but the hotel demands that men wear "budgie smugglers" and I am 75 so don't own those.

United KingdomMattress was slightly saggy. Hardly any hooks in the bathroom - lovely big bathroom but hardly anywhere to hang towels and clean clothes - a stool would’ve been nice too. Service at the bar in the evenings wasn’t the best as whoever was waiting on seemed to have a million other jobs to do as well - very friendly when they did appear but had to wait quite a while every night. The Express Breakfast boasts coffee and a pastry, so we ordered 2 coffees and 2 croissant. We were served 4 small croissant all of which were stale! This is France, surely it must be illegal to serve stale croissant! When we complained (had to whack the offending croissant on the plate to demonstrate how stale they were) we were provided with 2 more croissant and informed that these 'were fresh', so we took that as an admission that the originals weren’t! Clearer information on parking would have been appreciated as the large car park opposite is divided in a pay zone and a free zone but this really isn’t clear to non-French-speaking visitors!
Good sized room and bathroom. Two chairs and a table- amazing! Room was very quiet. Air con was very good. Location excellent. Easy to use safety deposit box. WiFi very reliable. Only 3 coat hangers for 2 people staying 4 nights BUT a call to reception and this was very quickly sorted.

United KingdomThe room was a bit small for more than just an overnight stay. There is a lot of parking space in the garage (it was never full when we were there) but for us parking was a bit problematic because our Mercedes V Class is slightly taller than the 2.0m height restriction. After a bit of discussion at reception, we discovered that the section of the garage close to the entrance is a fair bit higher than the rest and there are about 4 "tall" bays available there and one was free. But when we wanted to go on a day trip the hotel wouldn't block one off for our return. Because we couldn't be sure of a place to park, we couldn't go. Some hotels restrict the use of "tall" bays to tall vehicles (VW Transporters, V-class Merc, Range Rovers etc) and that would have been helpful.
Nice location right on the river and a gentle walk into the interesting town. The reception and restaurant staff were very welcoming and helpful, switching to English and coped with my terrible French when I said I thought that in France we should speak French. Breakfasts very good and the two evening meals we had there were also good.

SwitzerlandRather unfriendly staff looked like was making me a favor checking us in and answering my questions about parking. Parking at the hotel was full so I parked in the long parking area (a part of it is for free) in front of the hotel overnight which looked safe.

SingaporeWe paid for the breakfast. The breakfast is just fair and might not be good value for money.
The car park is next to the hotel. It is quite cramped but managable. Unloading of luggage is quite easy. The room is very clean. We had a suite in which our son slept in the sofa bed in the 'living room'. Although the suite is small it is roomy for the three of us and would be fine to accomocate a young family with 2 kids.
