Room we had was really too small for two people and their luggage. Not really an issue but a big triathlon weekend for the town did mean the seafront was partly blocked off for much of the time - whilst it was interesting to see some of the triathlon action, maybe some up front advice from the hotel would have been useful ( especially to UK visitors ).

Great location on the sea front. Staff were helpful. Restuarant was good, in the old style. The town and the sweeping beach was very good.

Only comment would be that the decor was a little dark, particularly as the bathroom had no window, but that in no way spoilt our stay.

Large hotel on the corner overlooking the sea approx 20 minute walk along the front to the centre of La Baule. The room was large with views over the town and the sea towards the right. Excellent restaurant each evening and a very good breakfast with a lot of choice. We were well looked after. There is a very small and awkward car park at the rear of the hotel but, with the number of people stopping at the hotel, we guessed that there must be a log of on-road parking in the locale. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a safe, and plenty of room for clothing.

bedroom was well furnished and decorated but rather small for a four star. The toilet was so small it was necessary to leave the door open.

There was a smell of old smoke in our room which is probably due to old carpet, which was a little off putting when first entering the room and the bath wasn’t perfectly clean, some fleck and hairs in there but nothing too alarming. Sounds worse than it was! The décor is dated and tired but to be honest for the price it is good value for money overall.

Reception staff were warm and welcoming, location of the hotel is perfect, roll out of bed and land on the beach! The area is peaceful and quiet, perfect with our 5month baby. Breakfast was great! Finally eggs bacon and sausages!

The breakfast room did not have enough tables to accommodate the many guests at peak times although there was plenty of space in the bar area close by. They offered us a tray to serve ourselves and then go to the bar area but they could improve this solution by expanding the buffet and seating during peak times. Also, don't count on the availability of the elevator at peak times.

Great location directly across the street from the beach. The room was comfortable and we had a great view of the ocean and beach. The staff were very nice and helpful.

- The double bed consisted of two twin beds pushed together, which tend to move apart slightly, and the mattress felt too firm. This is subjective but I think softer mattresses would improve comfort/customer experience. - The hotel is a 19min walk from the main area around Avenue de Gaulle, so you are slightly removed from the action (restaurants, shops etc). If you're looking for more lively atmosphere, we would go further towards the main strip. - The towels were small and could be fluffier. I would perform a supplier review to find better quality towels, and/or periodically replace towels after usage, and/or improve laundering. - The room phone couldn't connect us directly to the Reception, so we had to call the Bar in order to get through to Reception. It would be a good idea to review all room phone connections and ensure all lines function as required.

- The location in front of the beach (across a very small bit of road) is brilliant. Your feet are in the sand within less than a minute. You are within a 5min walk from the nearest watersports school and there is a cafe on the beach 2min away, where you can have drinks, lunch or breakfast. - As the hotel is near the end of the road/promenade, it feels quiet, exclusive and private. Love that! - The staff were very helpful, responsive and polite. It was truly a pleasure interacting with them, and no request felt like too much. One minor note: there were a couple of times where we needed their help, and the staff weren't the most intuitive in providing a solution or answer; I had to prompt them. Therefore my advice to them would be that if they went a step further in anticipating the guests' needs or providing solutions more quickly, they would be providing outstanding service. But overall excellent service! - Room service food was DELICIOUS and fast! - The view from our "partial seaview room" was GORGEOUS. I feel the hotel's description is humble, as the view of the bay was truly spectacular. - We also stayed in a suite which was spacious and with gorgeous views. - The private parking is very handy (however, note that there is also free on-street parking behind the hotel)
