How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewGreat location near the canal, parking nearby, large room, comfortable bed and decent shower, quiet at night.
The decor was very much in need of a refresh - quirky but very tired decoration and furniture.

Verified reviewThe house is in a very central location in Narbonne: 3 minutes to the covered market, less than a minute to the canal and 15 minutes walk to the train station. The communal kitchen was a bonus - it is spacious and well equipped. There are several small Carrefour Express supermarkets close by so it was easy to cook.
The street noise was noticeable even with the windows shut but it was market day so this could have been more pronounced than on other days.

Verified reviewVery central property and excellent recommendations made by host. We really enjoyed our stay in Narbonne!
It was a bit run down, but it matched the vibe of the town in a positive way. We are not too picky, so we were overall pleased with the room.

Verified reviewIt was good value for money and everything was comfortable enough.
The terrace is not very pleasant to sit out in, and is completely blocked in with no view. It was quite noisy from the street and there was a very loud fight break out around 1am. Obviously not the fault of the establishment but I didn't feel particularly comfortable as a lone female.

Verified reviewPerfect location right by the canal, but still not very loud. Self check-in made arrival easy, and we didn't have to stress about arrival time.
Beds not super comfy.

Verified reviewWe loved the kitchen. Very well equipped an roomy.
Jacuzzi did not work, pictures are misleading. Ground floor room was a bit to dark an a bit to cold for us at the end of winter. Pictures on booking did not come from our room: Cold tile floor with a big step in the middle of the room.

Verified reviewVery charming property, and spacious. It's walkable to the canal, the Cathedral, Les Halles, restaurants (including Les Grandes Buffets), and the train station. Shared kitchen facilities are convenient! Layout of the 2 bedroom suite has a toilet in the entry hall, sink in the double bedroom, and a shower & tub in a side area.

Verified reviewEasy to access. Instructions were in multiple languages.
I didn't know which room to go to when I arrived. I stayed in the first room as it had the keys in the door. I found out later which room I was assigned when going out for dinner. By that time it was too late to change rooms. It could be avoided by sending a message in the morning which room is assigned.

Verified reviewThe location was very central, close to the central square and canal through town. I was only there one night, so didn't experience that much. The kitchen set up was very nice, large, could easily prepare a meal there if you were staying longer. There was large refrigerator to store items and access to laundry facilities too, I believe. The room was quite large and had a small balcony off of it which I didn't expect. I was able to easily walk to a grocery store and a yummy bakery. Also, while a sort of long-ish walk with a large bag you could walk to the train and bus stations from this location.
I really didn't have any issues. All the communication was via the app and never actually had to deal with anyone in person which was easy, but as a solo traveler sometimes it's nice to see/speak to someone in person. But really it was perfectly fine as I was just there for one night en route to another place.
