This is the fourth hotel we have stayed at Bordeaux Lac on a stopover from Spain and by far the best. More expensive but worth it for comfort, space and for being totally dog friendly. Better staffed than the other hotels we stayed in so the service is much better. Lovely indoor children’s play area too.

Not really the hotels fault but my car was targeted while in the carpark it had a load of what looked like a take away thrown over it. It seems to have been targeted as it was the only british registered car there.

We would stay at this hotel again for its location , service and value for money.

Breakfast very expensive if you only want a croissant! Coaches arriving outside reception very early in the morning and leaving their engines running for up to half an hour a time. Not good for the environment or health if you have a window open.

The wine selection ( really restrein and not everything was available), the shower was way too small ( less than 1m92), mold present in the shower in the joints, windows of the room were dirty. The mini bar advertised was empty.

The kids were looking forward to using the pool but unfortunately it was closed. It states that breakfast is open till 10am but make sure you get down early as we got there at 9:40am and they were already packing everything away.

Very child friendly, yet also a great place for adults to relax. Modern facilities. The tram stop into the city was just a short walk and very easy to use.

Just missing like a pair of slippers in the room and probably the mini bar should be filled up

On overall it was a very good experience, it was my second time here so I came back with pleasure. I will travel again at the end of this month so 100% I’ll book in again. Thanks to the wonderful staff at front desk and also restaurant.

The hotel was exceptional: the room was nice, clean and specious, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent, staff was very friendly (even during the fire drill exercise, which was conducted during our stay). Carpet in common areas could do with a clean, quite pricey at the cafe e.g. 4.90 EUR for a coffee, 8.50 EUR for 50cl beer but maybe thats just compared to GBP?

Great for a one night stay on the way to or from Bordeaux airport. Room was quiet, parking was easy, breakfast good, tram stop outside the hotel for the city centre (1.6 EUR single), kid friendly (games area), table football. Modern budget hotel with a bit of a travelodge feel. Front desk staff were professional and very helpful.

Just the breakfast chaos ! Last thing you need when you get up !!

Lovely bed very comfortable immaculate and clean beautiful bathroom ! Pool area lovely ! Breakfast was ok it's not methodically set out people bumping into people and carrying hot drinks to other areas ,with a small bit of planning it would be easy to have all hot drinks in a seperate area and then it wouldn't be so chaotic! However when I eventually got my breakfast together everything was great

    The rooms were rather small

Ok hotel profiled towards families with the pool as well as "kids corner". The location was good and not in the middle of the city of Bordeaux. However, the center was easy to reach with the 20 min tram ride. The hotel had a close proximity to the motorways if you wanted to do some excursions to the wine districts or the coast as well. The hotel was rather newly renovated and the standard was ok, both rooms and amendments as well as the restaurant. Ok value for the money if you want a pool close to Bordeaux city, but the hotel was nothing special but also nothing of note in terms of disappointments.

Price tag high - 8 euros for two small bottles of tonic, lots of extras, dog, dinners and parking and breakfast adding another 122 euros on the price of the stay - it was not that I minded, but I did not like the no bill at the end they debit your card on a pre-authorisation up to 150 euros and at check out suggest they will sort it out and deduct from this amount, no bill when you leave and whilst I do not dispute the cost finally charged to my card, they system seems open to abuse.

Value for money in my opinion not satisfactory and not comparable with other 4 star hotels. Plastic cups in bathroom, which lost balance as soon as you attempt to put toothbrush in. Towels were a bit in a dissarray as if somebody else has been in the room before. Room furnishing appears to be very cheap and not much inviting.

There isn't much to do right beside the hotel itself (apart from attending events at the aforementioned conference centre and stadium), and while the lakeside makes for a relatively pleasant walk, it's slightly spoilt by the fact you can't walk along the lake's complete circumference.

The location is great for the stadium and conference centre, and only a very short walk to the tram that goes right to the town centre.

The gentleman that was at the reception was friendly although his English was not great but other staff did not really smile so much. The rooms are a bit small for a family of 4 but good enough for a short stay.

The location is great as a stopover coming from or going to Portugal/Spain. It can also be of great interest for those exploring Bordeaux. The hotel has a good area for children to play as well as a very nice heated outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast was also great with a wide variety to choose from.

    Nothing.

The design of the interior was interesting and modern but also very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The swimming pool was warm. Even though we were not with children the Hotel was family friendly with lots of happy quiet children around.

My 3 year old son did not like baby cot that was prepared for him. In the room was a roll out bed so we made a bed for him and solved the problem for him. At the end happy little boy.

Kids liked children TV, beds comfy and mini bar was a bonus :) . Breakfast was cater for all big and small people

Not so much. Prices off the bar and breakfast are pretty expensive.

No proper cups for coffee in rooms. Ran out of decafinated coffee. Ran out of cups for room. Room was not hoovered every day. Bar prices were high. Bill at end of stay was incomprehensible and not just because of language. Impossible to tally back anything from bar/restaurant. Was automatically charged for breakfast every day even though I only took breakfast on one occasion.

    Next to the lake

    Prices at the bar.

Staff were fantastic and so helpful. Breakfast was really lovely. the pool and grounds were very nice too and kids enjoyed the play area in the hotel, Xbox and puzzles etc. Tram stop is right outside hotel and brings you straight to the centre of Bordeaux in 20mins. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends. A very large shopping centre is less than 15 min walk. A trip to St Emillion is also worth a trip.

The hotel is really well kept but the stairwell carpet needs urgently replacing - it really smells!!! Bar and food prices steep but this is the same across Novotel chain

Really good hotel with excellent facilities, friendly staff, good car parking and tram outside to get into city - added bonus for some is proximity to football ground

room could have been cleaner - a few dusty cobwebs on the ceiling, one of the towels had a stain on it and the sides of the bath also a bit dusty. kettle but no cups!

stylish hotel, great location next to tram stop and relatively quiet area which was easily accessible from motorway. good facilities and reasonably priced for families. Room comfortable and handy fridge. Comprehensive breakfast buffet but busy at times.

The hotel is not in the city center but there is a tram station very close. It's perfect for children, they give them a gift in the check in and there is a special area just for them with games and things. The breakfast was very good.

Everything was wonderful. I had read a few reviews that food wasn't nearby - there are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance, but they are on the opposite side of a few other hotels.

My kids loved this hotel with kids play area with video games and other entertainment off the lobby and the pool area. Wifi worked well. Tran stop was just behind the hotel with direct access to the city center. Secure parking. One of the best places we stayed during our 6 week trip!

We had a family room for two adults and two children. The room was really too small for four people

Perfect location for us with a car and just 2 min away from the tram station. Very nice facilities at the hotel, swimming pool, ping pong table, boccia, fitness room and a spacious outdoor and indoor restaurant
