The communication at the reception was terrible, how is that possible to have staff in the reception without speaking any english and keeping talking to guests in french? It's ridiculous!

It's nice to have parking without being charged. The rest was also ok, but the photos on booking look better than what it is in reality.

Need an electrical outlet for ladies appliances (curling iron e.g.) in bathroom. Need an outlet also next to bedside table. Housekeeping was generally excellent but on our last night must have gotten interrupted mid-cleaning and left the room and bed in unfinished condition.

Coffee in room the best quality (Nespresso). Eggs were perfectly scrambled. Breakfast variety was outstanding and better than many well-known upscale hotels. Food quality in restaurant excellent. Beds very comfortable. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Cost of taxis from the hotel- Booked taxi through Rideways to get to the hotel from the airport but the driver didn't appear despite having prepaid it.

Carpets all over the hotel are really old and they desperate need an upgrade as they are very smelly, No much English spoken, but hey!!! ... you are in France, c'est la vie !!!

Excellent Breakfast, nice coffee, lots of options and well presented. Comfy Room Nice bedding good size rooms. Front desk ladies are polite. This hotel is away from Marseille but not too far if you are in a car. Also Cassis is only some minutes drive away. This is a hotel for staying over for business man but is family friendly and the swimming pool is a good extra for the children. No heated pool but with 28 degrees in the air at summer, the water is fresh enough for a nice splash.

It is amazing that in 2017 in a hotel where you pay € 125 per night, at the reception people do not speak English.. I travel a lot and in various parts of the world... Everywhere in hotels you can speak English, not in the Novotel in Marseille-Est.. (Fr-exit!)

    Rooms, kitchen.

Aircon so cold I became sick, still am ! Would have preferred to open a window at night, but they are the type that don't tilt back, so couldn't being on the ground floor. Tried switching off the zircon and couldn't breath. Also I had dinner the night of arrival and lunch the next day with a colleague. The dinner of lamb chops was OK, though the lunch of beef the next day was not. I left a lot of it. Must have come from a very old cow. I should have gone for the chicken.

Excellent location close to the highway.

The hotel is old and need a good refreshing.

The main asset of the hotel is its staff (really friendly, listening and taking care of us). Really appreciated to speak with all of them. Otherwise, the room have the minimum requirement.

Staff ignoring you. The airconditioners were not working they changed our room but the second room also had a very weak airconditioner

The attitude of the staff in the restaurant was very bad, unhelpful, unwelcoming. There was only one male staff on Sunday. He was not willing to help anyone Even French guests were getting angry with his attitude. He seems to be a permanent member of the who was there on Monday morning as well. The membrane of the staff in Novotel hotels needs to be reminded that their jobs rely on guest coming to the hotel and not by making guests not choosing Novotel hotel. It is a great contrast to Holiday inn hotels stag who are very polite and welcoming

I really want to suggest this hotel to watch a room cleaning and maintenance level. A/C is working very very poor. Floor carpet is very dirty. Obviously it is not vacuumed wel or cleaned regularly. I had to kill several insects during 2 days. Toillet seat is not nicely fixed.

Food in restaurant is very good

Hotel a little old, but because if you are afraid of stains on the carpets, worn out furniture and not very pleasant smell on the stairs, you can stay for one night
