How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewWas clean and the patio is very cozy, the woman working there is very nice.
There was a cockroach in our room, we were scared to bring home one. The sound isolation is pretty bad, we were perfectly hearing all the steps, voices, in the morning it got pretty noisy. The way to the main beach takes 30 minutes by foot. For those without a car, the location isn’t great.
We are pleased that you enjoyed our patio. Nevertheless, we are surprised by your comment since you assured us everything was alright when you gave us back the key. If there really was a cockroach, why didn't you come and see us so that we could take action and solve the problem? Was it a large palmetto butterfly on the patio? Our team is available at the hotel to make sure your stay goes as smoothly as possible, so don't hesitate!

Verified reviewClean room and crisp white bed sheets. The staff was extremely kind and helped us with the bike storage and also with luggage storage after check-out. A fair 2-star hotel.
The decor in our room was a bit out-dated and the room small but OK for a short stay (we had the street side rooms, probably others are more quiet and comfortable.
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. We are delighted that you appreciated the cleanliness, the welcome from the team, as well as the free services adapted for your bikes and luggage; it is always a pleasure to make your stay as convenient as possible. We take note of your comment on the decoration, some rooms have a vintage touch, the transformation is in progress, slowly but surely. We hope to see you soon to discover the suite!

Verified reviewNice location close to the beach and the marina. Garden hose in the yard to clean the dogs. Free parking on the street.
Breakfast too expensive. VERY small room to travel with dogs. Run down rooms and amenities. Needs renovation or make-over.

Verified reviewThe hotel has clean rooms and a pleasant garden. The staff were excellent and always helpful. Its well located for the marine/boating areas, less so for down town & shops. It’s pretty clean and the breakfast was ok.
It’s tired and faded decor might be ok for €60 a night but not at this price. Only some of the plug sockets worked in the room so my phone didn’t charge and we had to borrow a hairdryer. Room was right by the road and Wednesday turned out to be market day so the quiet residential street became the main route into town at about 7am. The hotel has few facilities and there is no parking.

Verified reviewThis is an older motel, but it is maintained meticulously. The central garden is peaceful and beautiful. Staff are very friendly and informative. I was there in off-season, so it was quiet and peaceful. We stored bikes securely in courtyard. Price was fair.
It was a pleasure to welcome you! We hope you enjoy your bike trip and the Dune du Pyla 😊

Verified reviewLovely courtyard - this makes the hotel worthwhile. Rooms clean. Location is good, although not in main tourist zone, which is about 30 mins. walk away. ( Personally, I prefer this location - and there are nice restaurants/ boulangeries).
Zero interest in customers! (With a couple of anecdotes over and above general lack of interest: Hair-drier not working - reported - no interest; hotel has a bar - asked for ice, without ordering a drink - refused). We have been travelling a lot, and this was very expensive for what it offered. Without the courtyard, it would not be able to charge anything like the current rates…..

Verified reviewNear the Cabanon Aiguillon, super for lunchtime on the shore of the Bassin d'Arcachon. Not to far from the Center Arcachon and there is a navette (1 euro Ligne 7 every day but sunday and 1st of May). I really appreciate the kindness and disponibilty fo explanations of the landlord woman.
Nothing disliking.

Verified reviewWe have stayed for several years, for just one night stays, while driving through France. Always enjoyed our stay
It has got expensive. In recent years the price seems to increase each year. So much so, that we might re-consider staying again next June and next Septmber, on our driving journeys through France (and Spain) as we move from / To Ireland / Canary Islands. We live in Ireland in Summer and Tenerif in Winter
