Another seat or two in the bedroom would have been welcomed although that might take up too much space. The shower was a little snug and a bit slow to drain but it was good to have a walk in shower as well as a bath.

The location of this apartment is brilliant, right in the shopping centre of Bordeaux and metres from a tram stop. Parking was no problem 3 minutes away and was less expensive than we feared (40 Euros for 40 hours or so). The twin room was snug but adequate for our needs. The sofa and TV in the main room was a bonus given that the kitchen and lounge are shared with another room. We love Bordeaux and certainly would come back here.

The room has a/c which is nice since many in France do not, but it didn’t cool well. The comforter is very heavy and no one uses a top sheet in France either - so it’s either no blanket or a heavy blanket and you’re hot.

The apartment was really nice. We loved the old Vs new combo of styles. The layout was great.

Hard to find fault with this apartment! Perhaps a little more storage in the kitchen, but really everything was fine.

Breakfast is available, but we chose to bring in our own each day.

Perfect location! it is in the middle of Bordeaux but the appartement is well nested in the back of the building and overlooks the back of the Notre Dame. We only heard church bells strike at 7:am each morning, which gave more charm to the place. The appartement was well equipped with high standard kitchen appliances and utensils. Excellent coffees and choice of tea, comfortable beds and bathroom, spacious living areas open up to a small patio. We loved it and will return next time!

One or two minor details: Some of the peaches at breakfast one day were mouldy, and no more appeared the following day, though they or other fresh fruit would have been easy to obtain. The door handle to the second bedroom in the suite was broken, which resulted in one of us getting briefly stuck in the room. Mosquitos were a bit of a problem: maybe some netting on windows would help.

The location is excellent - right in the middle of Bordeaux, very well connected to trams and buses, very close to a good range of restaurants, cafes, shops, and in easy reach of most tourist sites. An ideal base for exploring the city. Despite its centrality, the maison d'hotes itself is very quiet, on the second floor away from the main street. We spent four nights in the two-bedroom suite, which was comfortable and well-equipped, with an enormous bath as well as shower. Breakfast was good, and the kitchen was available at all hours if we wanted to make coffee. Wifi connection was good.

The fact that the lift wasn't working when we arrived. It meant being creative about how we got our bags to the second floor without having to carry them up all of the steps. The kitchen area could have been cleaner and one of the breakfast items (dairy) left in our fridge for us to use was a week out of date.

The location of this property was superb. The apartment was spacious and generally well equipped. The air conditioning was efficient, something we appreciated as we experienced temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius. Having fresh bread and croissants delivered to the door each morning was a treat and something we very much enjoyed. It was also good to have our room serviced on most days of our stay

An issue on check-in with the device used for payment. Extremely frustrating - between the 2 of us guests, we tried 6 different bank credit cards, 5 from the US and 1 from Germany, in addition to a debit card. ALL were rejected (even though they all worked for every other purchase transaction at other locations in France). This was clearly a problem of the device the owner/manager was using, but he insisted his device was absolutely fine. He wanted us to go get cash from an ATM, which was not acceptable to us. Ultimately had to have the card info entered manually, which is troubling from a security aspect and VERY inconvenient. Also, the single available toilet for the room was old, wobbly and unstable. Safe was locked, not able to be opened or used.

Great location, very close or walking distance to most everything in city centre. Breakfast arrived on time every day and was quite lovely. Rooms were clean and had plenty of space.
