Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFunny smell in reception. Felt like we were the only ones in the hotel. Found it hard to find at night as it isn't clear from the street that it is a hotel
Location was excellent. Everything else average but was such a good price can't really complain

United Kingdom- It was a shame to return to the hotel after 15 years ( when it first opened ) to find it a little run down in places - Our room only had a bath and handheld shower attachment - - Breakfast over priced for what we had - Additional charge for tea - there were no facilities in the room - From the pictures on the website - and on our previous stay rooms look much nicer - all room should be this standard .
-Great location -Helpful staff - Room changed easily

United KingdomOnly on road parking at a price. Maybe this could be something they could make a deal with the local council about. Did not have the breakfast, there was 3 options to choose from and I felt they were expensive for what was offered, in fact felt the hotel was expensive as were most in le touquet. Felt the rooms in the hotel lacked some basic facilities you would get in most other hotels especially for the price paid for the night. Things such as no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities, no fridge or mini bar available and no shower curtain so water went everywhere. No air con.
Excellent location, On a positive, the staff were accommodating and friendly and they offered us a fan due to the hot nights which was kind of them.

United KingdomThe hotel charges a silly amount for a cot. However, when I arrived, I realized the cot had no appropriate mattress not appropriate bedding. This is a choking hazard for babies. When I flagged it to the staff, they were rude - said they wouldn’t charge for the bed, but they did anyway. They refused to fox it for subsequent nights. My bedroom was in a quasi windowless basement wich smelled moldy in August.

United KingdomBad points The Air conditioning didn’t work and as we were on the 3rd floor it was extremely hot so had to have the windows open all night, this wouldn’t have been so bad but we were constantly woken by the bin collection and the market being set up, the rooms were not made each day and we had to complain to the management. There was no tea / coffee in the room, there was a tv but no remote control so that didn’t work, the room didn’t have a shower except for a hand held which was like showering with a needle gun which went all over the floor as there was no shower curtain. The toilet didn’t flush properly so had to use the toilet brush to force any solids down. The room was extremely dark and most of the light bulbs didn’t work, the card reader on reception didn’t work so I had to run around the town to try and find a cash point which didn’t give me enough money to pay (due to daily limit) which was very embarrassing. The rooms were very shabby and in need of decorating (especially what we paid for it). We were offered a €16 breakfast each as compensation for the rooms not The being cleaned - not worth €1.60 - small selection of croissants and continental meats. Good points One of our party had booked a room through Booking.com but they had changed the dates without him realising so when we turned up there was no room for him, the very nice lady on reception rang around the other bookings who hadn’t turned up and found him a room which saved the day. The reception staff were very nice The location is very good
Location was great

United KingdomThe balcony door was only connected with one hinge so fell onto us when we opened it The windows/balcony door did not close properly therefore the room was incredibly noisy The walls are paper thin and we could hear the people next door snoring and coughing The shower is simply a hand held shower in the bath. You can't have a proper shower etc It is quite grim and I would not recommend that you stay there at all.
I can only describe this hotel as simply awful. The only good thing was that it was centrally based so we didn't need to get taxis.

I then had a shower but after one minute the water stopped I checked basin and WC but neither had water I want to reception with towel and wet soapy head and was told to wait whilst a new customer was booked in Eventually a plumber was called but he was unable to fix it .We were then told we could use another room on another floor for washing and water We refused this and asked to leave with a refund. The person on duty said we were doing exactly the right thing as she would have done . We drove with wet hair to the holiday inn. We did not get a refund and so paid twice for the night
