Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIdeally the shutters would have been left shut before we arrived to stop heat building up in the height of summer as the aircon didn’t quite reach the bedrooms as well as I hoped. It had fans though.
It was very centrally located with view of the boats. Considering it’s location it was very quiet inside as the shutters and windows cut out all noise. The appartement is huge and has parking, which although is a short walk away is a huge benefit. It had all you needed and staff were friendly.

NorwayIt would be nice if the description was a bit clearer: the check in to get the keys is at Hotel Centre Nautique (where the parking is). The apartments are on the other side of the port and there is a couple of 100 meters to walk. Our rooms where on 3rd (or maybe 4th) floor and there is no elevator. Which means that the luggage have to be carried quite a distance. The apartment is kind of long and with only one window out to the nice port. As others have pointed out, the main bathroom is in on of the bedrooms with no door separating them. There is no dishwasher. And as mentioned the swimming pool is in a third location (Hotel Genovese). Unstable wifi.
This apartment is located right at the waterfront and there is short distance to cafes, restaurants and shops. There is a free parking space for guests right next to Hotel Centre Nautique. Parking is a mess in Bonifacio so this is a really nice advantage. There is swimming pool that can be used, but this is at third location (!): Hotel Genovese which is up in the citadelle.

SloveniaNot for those who would like an elevator since the appartment is on 4th floor (not a problem for us). Bedrooms don't have a view, nevertheless this is compensated by the view from the main room. We are also not used to having the shower and one toilet in the bedroom. Luckily, there was also a separate toilet with doors 😊. So, none of the mentioned really bothered us much.
The location and the view from the main room - seeing each new mega yacht docking at the port. Towels were changed every day. Restaurants and shops were basically at the door-step. Parking was near by easily accessible in the beginning of Bonifacio (don't drive to the other side of the port).

LuxembourgCan get a bit noisy at night but the widows isolate the noise from the restaurants and bars outside very well.
Very specious, comfortable and clean apartment with a perfect location. The view to the port from the bedrooms and the living room is amazing. Excellent for families with older kids.

FranceNoisy outdoors night club in summer (but that is not the flat/hotels' fault). Double glazed windows do help, music finishes at 1am so not so bad in summer
Very central location (right at the port), great view. Very spacious flat. Managed by nearby hotel where you can park your car (extremely helpful in this busy town) and have access to pool at the partner hotel in the "ville haute"

IrelandAs mentioned, it is on the third floor and there is no lift. Car park is at the opposite side of the port and there is no facility to drop off bags at the appartment, so you have to carry them quite a distance and then up the 3 floors. Price was very high compared to other places we stayed in Corsica. The following comments relate to apartment 8: - There was a sign in the bathroom asking us not to use the sink due to a leak, so after using the bathroom we had use the sink in the kitchen. It looked like the sign had been there for a while - it is not clear why the leak has not been fixed. - There was no air conditioning in the second bedroom, only in the living room and main bedroom - as a result it was necessary to leave doors open to cool down the second bedroom. - The apartment sleeps 4, but there was only a single couch in the living room, meaning that some had to sit on kitchen chairs rather than on a sofa / armchair. - There is no door / partition between the main bedroom and it's ensuite bathroom, so there is no privacy for anyone using the ensuite. - The road to the upper (old) town passes right behind the apartment, so there was a lot of traffic noise late in the main bedroom at night and early in the morning. Also as there was no shutters on the windows in the ensuite car lights caused the room to light up frequently.
Great location overlooking the marina right in the heart of the port. Great views of the old town. Spacious. Comfortable bedrooms.

Portugalit was advertised with air conditioning and there was only one machine at the living room but not cooling so it was a fan. we opened the windows so we could sleep but with all the noise from the disco around we couldn’t at all. staff was very unresponsive and only sad I’m sorry about the AC. the manager should go back to hospitality education since he said the same. well, be very careful choosing this hotel. I’m 50 years old now and felt like a teen age’s trip.
location is good and bad at the same time. good because it is right at the port but bad because you can’t sleep while B52’s club doesn’t shut down.

MadagascarA little hard to find the place in the first instance as there are no visible signs from the street and the building is at the back of another hotel
Great place to stay - very central yet quiet, spacious for up to 4 people, very comfortable and clean- the staff were lovely and helpful at all times. The parking space in a private car park was an added bonus.
