Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryThe reception is only open until 8 PM on Saturdays – the main arrival day – which I find completely unrealistic, especially for guests arriving from abroad after a long journey. Traffic jams, accidents, or heavy rain can easily delay your arrival. I informed them in advance via Booking.com that we’d be arriving around 10 PM, but they only replied after 8 PM, which made things unnecessarily complicated. When they finally realized we wouldn’t be there by 8, their reaction felt panicked, and they showed no flexibility. We only received the room key after managing to pay the deposit online — with very poor signal coverage in the mountains. There was no option to postpone the deposit until Monday, even though the accommodation had already been paid in full. Another issue was that the phone number provided both on Booking and on the official website was completely unreachable — the reception eventually called us from a totally different number, so we had no way to contact them in advance. The whole arrival experience was unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant. We booked a 4-person apartment but stayed only as a couple. Even for two people, the storage space was just enough – I can’t imagine four adults staying here comfortably with their luggage. Definitely something to consider when booking. Cleanliness was okay overall, but if guests are expected to clean before check-out, I’d expect a higher standard upon arrival. The baseboards were dusty, and the wooden tray on the coffee table hadn’t been wiped at all. There were no sheer curtains, only blackout ones, so during the day anyone could see right into the apartment. And another thing — I’ve stayed in quite a few places around the world, and from a 4-star accommodation, I would expect at least a simple A4 sheet in the apartment informing guests that the only mountain road would be closed the next day due to a sports event — amateur or professional, it doesn't matter.
The apartment is located in a quiet area, away from the center, making it ideal for rest and relaxation. The living room offers a lovely view of green hills and mountains — a beautiful sight to wake up to. I especially loved the balcony — perfect for sitting out, relaxing, and getting fresh air. The kitchen was clean and well equipped: a good-sized fridge with a small freezer compartment, a clean and functional dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, and a toaster. A nice welcome pack was waiting for us upon arrival, including about five dishwasher tablets, a small amount of cleaning liquid, a sponge, a dishcloth, and a kitchen towel. We had brought these things ourselves out of habit, but it was a thoughtful touch worth mentioning. However, I recommend bringing extra toilet paper and trash bags, as the provided amount wasn’t enough for a full week. The bed was basically comfortable, though quite small — probably about 150 cm wide and 200 cm long, no more than that. A large shared duvet is provided, so cuddling and romance are guaranteed. If you prefer separate blankets or more space, it’s good to know this in advance. The pillows are on the softer side, so if you’re used to firmer ones, it’s a good idea to bring your own. The radiators worked well and were easy to adjust — very welcome on chilly evenings. The hotel has its own underground garage, but it's a paid service. It’s also worth noting that if you need to use the sofa bed in the living room, you’ll have to rearrange some furniture every morning and evening. We didn’t try the wellness area, so I can’t comment on that. And for skiing: the ski lift starts almost right in front of the balcony — it truly couldn’t be closer.

BelgiumLa plagne 1800 is not the best location In la plagne. The site is quite dark and not sunny although the chalet is very well located on the slopes.
Nice and cosy

United StatesThe chalet was very spacious and in decent order. The kitchen and downstairs needed more lighting, and the chalet could have been cleaner when we arrived (the downstairs carpets did not seem to have been hoovered).
The location of the chalet is ideal in 1800, and excellent for wheelchair users. We had a ground floor chalet apartment and it worked very well, and there are also lifts everywhere in the chalet to access upper floors.

United KingdomVery expensive, they turned down my suggestion of free parking (despite renting two apartments), lack of free WiFi, dining table a bit small. No cleaning service and guests are expected to clean afterwards (or you are charged extra), not enough toilet paper (the friend just got half a roll left over and told to buy more). Do your shopping in the lowlands, local shops are very dear.
We chose the place because of a swimming pool, covered parking and location. The kitchen was reasonably furnished. This is obviously a fantastic ski resort with countless slopes and lifts. However, my wife is not good at skiing and all the easy slopes we tried become steep and narrow at the bottom.

United KingdomHowever, the apartment facilities were very basic - one toilet roll, no welcome pack. We arrived in the evening, we flew to Geneva then shared transport so no opportunity to shop for basics en route. It would have been great if at least tea/ coffee available to tide us over and a few dishwasher tablets! Once the sofa bed was out, there was no room in the apartment to cook/ eat/ relax - very small. There were two of us - if there had been 4 of us, which it was meant to accommodate, it would have been dreadful - fortunately we were skiing with friends who had got a large apartment so we cooked/ ate/ socialised with them in their apartment (but even their kitchen area was tiny and a challenge to cook for 11 people. Cooking facilities very basic - no oven. For a family of 4, you'd need an apartment for 6 if you had any intention of eating in at all.
Location great, staff helpful, bread deliveries in the morning. Ski in ski out location which was fab. Plagne 1800 is a small village but several places to eat out, a supermarket and two lively bars made it a great place to stay.
