Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very friendly and welcoming service. Julien took very good care of us, we could not think a more helpful staff. Breakfast was also really good with fresh juice and a lot of varietes. We can truly recommend Maison Lamartine.

Nothing I didn’t like
The location is great and right in the centre of Nice, so perfect for access to shopping, and all the main sites of Nice. The room was nicely furnished and very quiet. What was exceptional Was the staff working here. Corina and Julien were extremely helpful, and did their best to accommodate my early check-in. You definitely get the feeling at this place that the staff really genuinely care about their jobs and the guests. I will definitely be coming back.

I was greeted at the door by the friendly staff, Corina and Manuela. They were very friendly and offered suggestions on where to eat, etc. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was a welcome basket with coffee, snacks, and a friendly note. The room was quiet day and night. The room had a pleasant view of the inner courtyard. The staff even did some of my laundry for a minimal charge. The location was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Only a short 10-minute walk from the train station. I highly recommend this hotel and I will happily return again.

gorgeous spacious room with views over the street below. Lovely little touches like fresh coffee packet and teas and drinking water in the fridge. Super comfy bed and great sound proofing for the windows - we loved it! The staff who greeted us couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - we will be back.

You will never regret visiting Maison Lamartine
My favorite place to be, cozy and fancy at the same time - Maison Lamartine is where you are a guest, not a client. Spacious, smart and very comfortable, rooms really worth it. If you have opportunity - take the one with a view 😍, the only thing that can compete it is generous breakfast in the garden. People who work here will bring you a good vision on southern French hospitality and make you feel home. I’ve been to dozens of hotels this year and no one impressed me like that.

It rained for 2 out of the 5 days that we stayed.
The Staff was very friendly and welcoming, they always wanted to make sure everything was the best for my partner and myself. They were very quick to respond whenever we needed assistance or if something needed to be changed.

The only thing that could be better is the lighting in the bathroom - that's the problem with the design/decoration, not related to the service/staff.
The hotel was very good in the communication, before, during and after. Very helpful to go extra miles. The hotel staff was very nice, kind, helpful. Great location for us, as wanted to stay near the train station; quiet yet very close to the busy shops restaurants. My daughter loved the babyfoot and other games in the lubby reception space.

You could hear voices when people were outside your room, so not enough sound proofing of doors.
Staff were just so great. Property is central to both promenade and train / team / bus stations to all destinations.

The light bulbs in the main room is a bit off
