We thought the Concierge could be more informative when visiting versailles Palace for the first time as it can be quite confusing regarding queuing and timings. We did not dine in either of the restaurants in the evening as we thought the fare was quite limited.

Our overall experience was excellent as detailed within our other responses. The staff, the service, the location, the spa etc.. were all excellent as indeed was the peaceful environment.

Beautiful room with stunning views of nature. We loved the feeling we got at our stay, felt very welcoming and comfortable. The staff were impeccable and service was some of the best we have ever experienced. Well done to the Waldorf team - we will most certainly be visiting a Waldorf as soon as we can.

The tennis are closed half of the year, an information that is really well hidden. The staff is not super smiling nor helpful which is at odd with the 5 stars

I wish there was a car or shuttle service from either the Versailles palace or the local train station, because it was a bit challenging to get to. Booking a cab was so difficult because there were none available a the time we called, and after a full day walking around the palace we were just exhausted and wanted to rest.

My stay at the Waldorf Astoria was perfection, everything form the room the the facilities to the onsite restaurants. it was just beautiful.

I know we booked the 4 star Pavillion wing but the corridors were bland and uninviting without ornaments or flowers. Also the Pavillion is for corporate events and feels businessey rather than a holiday or weekend break venue. It could do both. There should be a smart, casual dress code for users of the La Veranda restaurant, a large corporate group dined in the restaurant in shorts, T shirts and jeans ; just because the business is paying doesn’t mean you shouldn’t respect the other restaurant diners.

Good size room and large bathroom. Lovely bedding and comfortable mattress. Quiet. Food very good at both restaurants. Pleasing bedroom decor. Good breakfast buffet. Very convenient for entrance to Versailles Palace.

Late checking us in by an hour and 40 minutes. And if was not made clear to us upon booking that there are two hotels. One of them being a 4 star hotel. And the front desk at the Pavillon du Trianon was not the nicest when we arrived and upon requesting late check out. While she did agree to it it took a lot of asking and requesting even though they checked us in late and kept us waiting.

Trying to talk to the hotel on the phone was a nightmare. The pool area needs attention and the sauna and steam room were not working.

The location and the opulence and grandeur were in keeping with each other. After a dodgy start the stay was excellent.

If you have your dog with you then you cannot eat in any restaurant other than the brasserie unless you are happy to leave your dog in the room. You cannot book the brasserie and have to wait for a table which on a busy night would be an issue plus you cannot get a drink in the hallway while you wait for your table. We waited 45 mins for our table which would have been fine if we had been able to enjoy a drink while we were waiting.

Room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. We especially liked the fact that the toiletries provided were of a substantial size - not those mean little bottles or, worse, sachets. Our only criticism would be that the room temperature was difficult to control: it seemed stuck on cold and could not be raised - OK after a day out in the humid air but less so first thing in the morning…

Only minor gripes but the provision for electric car charging could be improved - at our visit only a Porsche destination charger (so not valid for us) and some on street ones that we couldn’t get to work. One of our rooms air conditioning appeared to be locked to quite a high temperature for some reason (25C) - our fault for not mentioning it at the time as I am sure it would have been easy to adjust but it made one of our nights a little uncomfortable. It might be worth adding some extra signs from the multi story parking to point to reception for checkin, it may just be us but we got a bit lost getting over from the pavilion to the front desk and back again with all our bags.

Breakfast was utterly amazing - a beautiful, historic room to eat in with excellent food and attentive table service. Our family really looked forward to starting our day here. The pool was excellent, rooms were extremely large and the adjoining room configuration for our family worked very well. Location wouldn’t be more perfect for visiting the palace and town. Lovey staff at reception and at the restaurant made us feel very at home and at breakfast kept the hot chocolate flowing for our kids.

Breakfast was AMAZING! So much choice, fantastic service, and I should also say delicious. Felt a bit like the second class citizen staying in Trianon palace next door but the interconnecting rooms worked well for us as a family. Super helpful concierge who sorted last min palace tics for us. All staff were excellent. The only issue we had was air con in our room was really noisy and couldn’t go below 22.5 which was really frustrating. First night was fireworks so couldn’t open window but second night just had windows open and was fine and quiet. Kids room air con worked fine!

It was a little noisy in the evening because of a family event, but it didn't go on all night.
