Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JordanNot a deal breaker but it would be more helpful if there is someone who speaks English there while checking in.
Extraordinary stay as usual, this is my third time. Stayed in the new building which was beautiful. The room was amazing and spacious, amenities were beautiful. The lady who was there was super super nice. It is and will always be my go to place in Arcachon.

United StatesNot clear in Booking's listing that this was a guesthouse. I was expecting a small hotel. There is no sign on the property so we drove around the block a few times looking for it. The proprietress speaks no English and argued with me in French about which room was reserved. I had a print copy. Not a true bed and breakfast because the continental breakfast was an additional $15E. Huh?!
The guest house was located in a beautiful leafy neighborhood above the center of town. The garden was beautiful and we heard birdsong the whole time. The place was spotless with an amazing shower and good communal coffee maker.

United KingdomWe enjoyed the short walk (c10 mins) down to the town each day - you can go via the observatory tower and the park. The incline on the way back was not a problem at all and well worth it for the sea views and the lovely location of the hotel.
So glad we chose this hotel. Everyone was very welcoming and it felt more like a big shared home than a hotel. Breakfast was a highlight of the day - we arrived at 9am to find the big table set for about 12 people. Each place was set with a dish with eggs each day, a yoghurt based dish and a banana one plus croissants and bread and juice - there was enough to fill up on but it felt very healthy. The sea view from the breakfast terrace is outstanding. Our room (the blue room) over looked the pool and was a decent size and comfortable. We also had access to an area downstairs with tea / coffee and cake (4pm each day) and a reading room.

AustriaThe breakfast was good but had quite a small portion of „main“ dishes with a lot of bread. There could be more egg or more of some side dish, some meat or anything to really have the feeling of a full meal and not get up slightly hungry after. Especially since it’s not included in the stay
Amazing spot in the hills with a view, feels like being a honored guest with wealthy friends. If you’re not wealthy yourself, you will be walking uphill and downhill to the beach a lot but that’s ok :)

NetherlandsIs was very impractical that one of the hosts only spoke French. I only speak a bit of French, so communication was a bit 'difficile', which led to confusion when we tried to ask for something. To be honest, I do not understand why you would hire someone for this job who doesn't understand any English, at a place where none of the guests are French. Apart from the communication difficulties, the staff was super friendly and helpful.
The rooms were big and clean with good beds. The villa's are located in the most beautiful part of the town on top of the hill with stunning views. All kinds of facilities available such as a pool, whirlpool, sauna. Breakfast was good as well.

United KingdomIt was difficult to locate because there was no identifying nameplate at the gates, which are rusty and do not convey the impression of its being guest accommodation
We liked the fact it was an old characterful property set in lush surroundings and with access to a beautiful view of the Bassin d’Arcachon. The pool was a bonus.

FranceI cannot criticise anything. It isn't suitable for people of limited mobility - the rooms are on the first floor with a stone staircase. A handrail up the front steps would have helped me. Be warned that parking anywhere in the town centre is diabolical ! But that's no fault of the Hotel
Extremely helpful staff - impossible to find fault. Very quiet location with on-road parking right by the door. An interesting breakfast in a separate part with a terrace and lovely sea views/

United KingdomOur bedroom was compact. Quite a steep walk back from the centre of Arcachon which was OK for us but not for everyone.
Very stylish property in a wonderful location with stunning houses close by dating back to the late 1800s including the home of Alexandre Dumas. The staff were lovely and the breakfast outstanding, they even baked a cake and left it in the kitchen for us. Kitchen facilities, tea/coffee and juice were available for the occupants use. (4 bedrooms in total.) Private parking was in the villa grounds and free parking on the street. Our rear bedroom had a pretty garden and pool view. We loved Arcachon and Cap Ferret and climbed the dunes at Dune du Pilat at sunset, fabulous.
