Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaToilet was not great, continously leaking, and the shower head was held up by string. Nice balcony but at least weed the flower beds.
Loved the granite paved entrance with sandstone walls and bougainvillea plants.

Saudi ArabiaThe size of the room is ok, but the jacuzzi on it looks quite old, it can sound attractive, but as it is old it does not inspire to use it much. I would say, the cleaning of the room can be improved. Also I didn't like the size of the shower.
At the time of our trip all hotels in the center of the city were fully booked, this hotel was one of the best options to stay away of the city. It is very convenient as the hotel is located between two metro stations, and even the metro was not working after 21:00 hrs, there were substitute busses that can take you there with no issues. The area is secure and very vivid with some 24 hrs restaurants and bars nearby. The room was equipped with Air Conditioner (Mini Split) so even it was very hot outside the nights were pleasant. Room is equipped as well with a small fridge and TV.

New ZealandIt would have been good to know some of the facilities were not available prior to booking, so other opportunities could be looked at. A couple of issues with cockroaches in the bathroom did not amuse my family member.
Handy to the metro stations and to supermarkets. The location was handy with a good coffee shop just up the road which made things comfortable, and local shopping centres kept everyone entertained.

United States- WiFi did NOT work from the room. - Too many stairs and no help with luggage. - Loud noise from adjacent neighbor/rooms next door. - Other young staff was a bit rude, to me and other guests.
- Room was decently decorated, small but bigger than other hotels in Rome. Comfortable bed and lots of towels. - Close to Metro (train) and local restaurants/shops/grocery/pharmacy. - Able to book taxi for airport (for a fee). - David, the manager was super nice and helpful.

ItalyThe big deal the receptionist made just because we wanted to store our bikes in a safe place which is the storage area. The fact we asked for a second key-card and they didn't have. For a less amount of money I found a 4 stars hotel in Rome Parioli.
I still don't know

ItalyI didn't like the guy from sri-lanka he was very unhelpful didn't like his job, it took me 2 hours just to resolve issues he kept making excuses then left a message with the boss saying this is not my work. Maintenance needs to improve as some stuff was broken.
The guy from the Philippines and the guy from peru were wonderful at their job and looked after my stuff.

United Kingdomwe booked this place as it advertised a pool which by the way is filled with dirty green swamp water so can not be used the images on the website are nothing like what you end up in the room stank of urine it was noticeably dirty including fridge bed and bathroom area even the balcony was dirty it’s like the place has been abandoned upon our check in we went up to the room and straight away there was a dirty mop bucket by our door it was really dark in the corridors like bulbs had gone we then went to reception to ask about the location of pool to which the reception just looked at us clueless after explaining it over and over again about us wanting to use a pool he finally realised what we were saying but then said it won’t be ready for a week! if we had of known this we would have booked somewhere else this hotel is honestly the worst place I’ve ever stayed I have a lot more images also of everything mentioned too I would like a refund as this ruined our whole holiday and is not as advertised on the site
