Nothing, as said it was exceptional

We liked everything: the room, the bed, location, staff, food. It was all exceptional. The breakfast in the morning was also great. When you stay in De Sumulpot, you feel like a VIP!

Rooms were above the busy bar bistro which was a great place to eat and drink. The room was superb, huge bed facing an open bathroom area with double sink and walk in shower. The owner even carried my wife’s bags up to the room when checking us in. As we were cycle touring we needed some where safe to put our bikes. The arrangement they have with the big hotel round the corner worked really well. From their reception I got a key card to access a secure bike garage in n a neighbouring street, for 5 euros a night.

Everything was excellent, wonderful attention to detail. Welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. The breakfasts were fantastic. All the staff are so great, De Smulpot is a lovely place to visit and stay.

Very clean room and bathroom. View of 15th century church. Breakfast included fresh orange juice, a smoothy, eggs, pancakes. Location central. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I believe a “separate” entrance would be an improvement for hotel Guests. As the Restaurant guests do look abit suprised to see people with luggage and beach clothes walking through to get to the rooms.

Going with the car is problematic for the "parking struggle" as there is no private parking for guests.

It is located in the central area where you have access to all what you need. The room is super large with a nice toilet/shower. The bed and pillows are exceptionally comfort. We had a big delicious breakfast with meat, cheese, eggs, butter, and plenty of bakery and fruits. The restaurant itself is ideal for a good dinner with a selection good wines and beers. It is highly recommanded!

The room on the top floor was very warm, but the air conditioning mitigates this problem decently enough. Though I still thought it was a bit a hot and it is not even the warmest part of the year yet.

The room was very nice. It was clean and modern with airconditioning and a TV with lots of smart features including chromecast. The location is great right in the middle of Den Burg and close to the bus stop. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of variation and options. Delicious yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit, pastries and fresh cuts of cheese and meat products. I really like how it was brought to each table separately.

Too much food for breakfast. A vast range of delicious choices laid out on each guests' table. I hope uneaten food didn't go to waste.

Everything was beautifully done, right down to the little finishing touches. Warm welcoming staff, beautiful facilities.

We really enjoyed our brief stay at Hotel de Smulpot. The staff were most welcoming and the room was stylish, immaculately clean and very comfortable.

The room was very hot and although we could open the window it was still a bit stuffy. No airconditioning, which is an issue with the high temperature. With the convenient location, in the middle of Den Burg, comes a lot of noise until quite late in the evening. But that can't be a surprise if you chose to stay in the center of the village.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. You also have the possibility to have lunch or diner at the restaurant. We highly recommend it. Room is spacious and clean. An overall great experience on the beautiful island of Texel.

The owner was amazing! She's so warm, and attentive! We dropped that it was my boyfriend's birthday the following day. Our breakfast table was then decorated with balloons and we got two slices of cake. The breakfast was more than good, we are vegan which was no problem at all: smoothies, vegan cheese and pate, hummus, jam, soyajoghurt, vegan cake... The rooms are also really nice, nicely decorated, very clean, etc. . Totally recommended to stay here! We'll certainly come back.

Nothing concerning the restaurant or hotel, but a small note should be about the parking. As a smaller town, there's limited parking (2hr) by the hotel, but within a 10 minute walk there's a sporthal where people park, and if you get the e-vignette (€10/day, €20/week) you can park anywhere on the island without care..towns, beaches, everywhere.

Lovely space, above the restaurant of the hotel and in a less-busy, more-responsible town than the neighbouring areas of Texel. Wonderful restaurants, bakeries, and people stayed masked in public. Amazing & huge breakfast!
