How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was basic and the bathroom was a bit of a tight squeeze. I would like to suggest that they need to install blackout curtains to prevent from strong car park light shining through the bedroom window.
The restaurant and the hotel interior was very nice. The location was very good with easy access to the city of Dunfermline.

Just a minor pointer. Maybe the bread for breakfast should be covered with a set of tongs in place.
The hotel is lovely, decor inside was beautiful and good car park. Breakfast was lovely and dined here also which was very good. A good comfortable two nights for my wife and myself with very nice staff.

A bit noisy at night due to party being held - our room near entrance/ exit so people waiting for taxi, chatting, smoking etc. until 12.30pm
Property was well maintained, nice style. Nice bar/ restaurant area. Rooms were small but beds comfortable. Plenty car parking

Loud music till midnight and smokers outside till 1 am and our room was just above this so no sleep till after 1 pm and needed to be away around 4 am. So not very pleased whit this

The bathroom felt very compact and also went to have a bath but no plug so I couldn't have one. My only real issue with the hotel was the party that was taking place it was super loud all throughout the night until after midnight , people running through the corridors as well wasn't great. So nice hotel but if you are going for a relaxing night and there is a function on be prepared.
Nice staff, good sized bed, good lights in the room, parking spaces , decent breakfast to choose from , wee shop close by if you needed any wee bits. Overall a nice hotel.

Beds were not the best, and sadly pillows were dreadful Also getting cases up those stairs was not good. Access to rooms was not easy.
Loved the venue all looked lovely. Staff were terrific

Nothing comes to mind!
Friendly staff, particularly the night porter who allowed us to get a wee nightcap when we arrived back from work late in the evening and made sure we knew where we were going for breakfast.

Bedroom Executive should be removed from bedroom. No shelve in toilet for toiletries Very basic. Menus very basic Breakfast really good first morning. Second day breakfast was very poor for some reason.?

Would have been nice for a cappacino or expresso from the coffee machine, the coffee was percolated so that’s only negative thing. They do have coffee making machine but guessed at an extra costs. Basic slice loaves bread for toast.
Very fresh cooked breakfast. Room tidy - all’s as expected.

Bedroom was a bit dated and there was no way to purchase or obtain thins like shower caps, toothpaste etc particularly if you forgot some of these items

Our room (twin room) was short on space to put stuff. Its a good job we only had an overnight bag . If we'd had two large suitcases , it would've been rather cramped. Also , no shelving in the toilet / shower room . You have to put your toilet bag etc on the floor.. not ideal.
Beautiful, clean and modern hotel with plenty parking space for all. The breakfast is just perfect . I loved it !

Cups in the room weren't changed from previous guests, but this got quickly rectified once I asked the staff
Really comfortable, spacious and warm. Lovely courteous staff and really good food. Excellent value for money, would definitely visit again
