Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaTerribly small bathroom so floor becomes soaked after shower so using toilet anytime afterwards means you need shoes on not to get wet feet. Nowhere to put your toiletries as there were no shelving in the bathroom.

LuxembourgShower head fixed to wall and wet room style floor meant one had to watch shower water did not go over the lip to the bedroom. Beautiful bay window in room left me feeling exposed to onlookers from opposite hotel if blinds were not lowered.
I received an upgrade which meant the room size was not too small and not too big. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the best part of my stay. Toiletries were cute and tea making facilities welcome. Lighting also very good. Reception staff very helpful and I was grateful I could leave my bag when arriving early. Good location, few minutes walk from Euston Station. Direct journey to Heathrow airport after 10 minute walk to Russell Square tube station (Piccadilly line).

United KingdomRoom was disappointing. Small, tired furniture, only a single chair for two people. Layout suggests rooms have been split to increase number and did not reflect pictures shown online when booking.
Ideal location & Internet was suitable for our needs including an essential Zoom meeting during our day out.

United KingdomI travel frequently for London and often stay in 3 star hotels for work. I chose to book a 4 star hotel for this trip however, i was surprised that the room was exceptionally small/compact with limited storage space. No mirror by the dressing table to put make up on etc. leaving our small case on the floor by the bed meant that you had to be careful in the night not to bang into it etc. No shelf in the bathroom for toiletry bags etc and the towel rack was more or less over the toilet which meant that you had to be careful to ensure that the towel didn't slip off. It was clean and the bed was comfy, but overall the room was a lot smaller than i was expecting, even for a standard room. Had it not been for my partner travelling with me on this occasion, i wouldn't have been able to reach the complimentary toiletries that were quite high up in the bathroom without calling for assistance. i think we would have struggled if we had opted to stay for more than one night, especially if we had each brought an overnight case etc.
The hotel is in a brilliant location as it is so close to both London Euston and London St Pancras/Kings Cross. I decided to opt for a 4 star hotel as it came within budget, The staff were friendly and inviting on arrival.

United StatesThe price of the hotel did NOT match the room. For as much as I paid I would have at least liked a refrigerator, but apparently that was only for "deluxe" rooms. When I initially walked into the room, I was a bit taken aback by how "basic" and small was it (again, not matching up with the price I paid). The room was so small that the toiletries that are typically provided in the bathroom had to be placed on the headboard because there was nowhere in the bathroom to place them. There were also stains on the carpet and it looked dingy. The main mirror they offered on the back of the door had a weird haze in it so it was almost unusable. Even the "gym" was barely that: there was only 1 automatic machine with weights and even that could only be used for certain exercise. There also weren't any weights to do other exercises; it was a waste of a room to just say that they "offer" a fitness center. I would have moved hotels if I hadn't checked in to immediately get ready for an event that evening...and I had already been charged.
I honestly think that the only thing I liked about this hotel was the location: it was about 5 minutes from the closest train station and some shopping. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming when I checked in.

United KingdomIt wasn’t advertised that the hotel debit £50 on your card when checking in to cover any damage but reimburse it as long as no damage occurs. This wasn’t a problem but you’d expect the amount to be back in your account once no damage was found when checking out and no having to wait 5 - 7 days

United KingdomRoom was a bit small. The glass door on the bathroom was off putting. A room was clearly available at noon while I was waiting for my wife, but I could only access it by paying the early check in charge. Did n't see the reason for this as no cost to the hotel.
Convenient location, close to tube and main line stations. Good value for money considering London prices. Clean and functional for what we needed and friendly staff.
