Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room wasn’t that large, so if you bring two large suitcases, you might have trouble storing them.
Very nice room, comfortable bed. Everything kept really clean. Bath was shared with only two other rooms and always clean as well, shower and toilet were separate and a sink in our room, so we didn’t have any waiting times during our stay. Tea/coffee, water and biscuits in our room. Also, free overnight parking right around the corner (16 or 18 until 11).

United KingdomThe view wasn't great, but we know the area well and there's very little that can be done about it.
The Apollo is ideally located in the centre of Hastings, only a short distance from the railway station. The room was recently decorated, spacious and very clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. Street noise was very subdued at night, which all made for an excellent night's sleep. The communal facilities (shower room and WC) were spotlessly clean at all times. All electrical appliances appeared to be new and working well.

United KingdomSloping floor (room 5) but the reason is given in the information folder in the room. Outside noise (cars, people), which somehow seemed really amplified. The seagulls give an alarm call around 5am each morning! The plumbing was a bit noisy - especially when folk flushed their loo in the middle of the night!
Close to all amenities; around a 5 minute walk from the train station. Very clean and comfortable. Other guests really quiet. Plenty of tea and coffee. Hairdryer, iron/board, enough hangers, spare pillows and blanket. I did also notice a fan in the wardrobe. Really useful phone charging dock, disguised as a clock. Comfy armchairs. Toiletries supplied and lovely thick fluffy towels.

United KingdomI appreciate it is a small single room on a small footprint but I'd have loved to have had a bit more surface space available for things.
The guest house is very centrally located, a couple of minutes' walk from the station and close to the town centre, which then leads on to the seafront. The room and shared toilet and shower were spotlessly clean and, while small, was well equipped with TV, fan and kettle.

United KingdomMy main complaint is the door between the bedroom and the en-suite - a bifold door is not suitable, given the space inside the en-suite, and the bifold itself was very stiff and noisy - going to the loo in the night meant definitely waking my partner.
Cosy, clean, accessible.

Italyshower curtains are really a big no, the shower is already narrow, but it shrinks when trying to avoid to be constantly touched by those thing
my room was lovely, big enough, bathroom really spacious, lot of natural light (but blackout curtains on spot) I appreciated the complementary coffee set and the atmosphere. all was perfectly clean and bed was comfy enough. the guesthouse has a lot of personality and history, I liked very much. very close to the train/bus station and to town center, a walkable distance from all the main spot in Hastings

United KingdomOne and only tiny gripe is the room was super warm. The window didn't open wide so was hard to cool down at all. The room may have been over where the boiler is
Room was clean and nice. Staff were friendly and great location. Facilities were great too.

United KingdomThe street the guest house is on was full of food matter and , litter and debris. I know this isn't the landlords fault but it really put us off. The car park is in a multi storey round the corner and the lifts in the car park had human excrement and urine all over the floor. (My husband slipped in it) it was filthy and vile. Bathroom was miniscule, you had to shut the door before you could get in the shower. (Room 1). Overall, the guest house was nice in itself, but the surroundings were run down.
Tv in the room. Near the centre. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. Snacks were left which was a nice touch. The owner had gone to a great effort to accommodate his guests

United KingdomEverything you need for a no frills stay. I found the room had everything I need but was a small single. It was fine for my needs though.
The owner was really friendly, and the place felt very secure and safe (important as traveling solo). The bed was comfy and I appreciated the biscuits, tea etc in the room. The street though very central was quiet and despite what others have said I really liked the fact there was a basin in the room. Everything was very clean (so important) and pillows comfy (hard to find even in more expensive bnbs). I found it very easy to find and it is conveniently located to the station. It was very well located and so nice to be 5 mins from Central Hastings, it was very easy to navigate and find my way around.
