As I said the staff numbers are limited and people share duties. None the less the location , placed in a difficult spot for luxury expectations , fared well with us and we were satisfied with our choice. The breakfast seems to be optional all the way , but that is not always a minus.

This hotel is well located in Kirkwall and has everything one needs for a short stay. The staff on duty is very helpful although they run between restaurant , bar and reception , in order to meet the Customers needs, When available they are extremely helpful and well understanding. The view on Kirkwall harbor is quite unique for the place.

Service in the restaurant could’ve been a bit slicker and there was a lot of noise outside our room, although we did take the budget room option so guess that’s why it was cheaper!

Room felt newly renovated and was very clean with a comfortable bed. Great location. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant followed by drinks in the bar accompanied by a local folk group who made the night extra special!

Friendly, accommodating staff. Excellent, easy access after disembarking from ferry. Easy walk to main sites in Kirkwall. A suite that had all we needed. Good dining for lunch and dinner, as well as breakfast.

Spiders webs with living spiders in room - clear to see so around the walls/roofs had t been cleaned in a while.

Liked everything about the property, people were very friendly.

Inclusion of washing machine would have been greatly appreciated. 3 of us had trouble with the toilet flushing, just too hard and it often needed 2-3 flushes. We opened windows every day as it was hot and stuffy and they were always closed when we returned after a day out. It appears that someone servicing the room turned off a power point that was attached to a very small portable fridge containing medication.

Great base for exploring the amazing Orkney islands. Very good location for exploring Kirkwall too. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Two couples shared a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. Staff were friendly and bought us a fan as it was warm while we were there. We had 2 separate stays while in the Orkneys 2 nights apart and the hotel was happy to look after luggage for us. Dining room menus and breakfast was average.

The room could have been larger

Location, opposite the harbour was excellent. The hotel was clean. The staff exceedingly helpful. Eat at the restaurant and meal was OK, with the bar being good and reasonably priced.

Location was excellent, 2 minute walk into town. Room was clean and comfortable with a see view. Parking at rear for our motorcycles. Evening meal in bar was lovely. It was only 5 minutes from the ferry terminal.

Unfortunately I didn't sleep well on this visit. The 2 twin beds didn't fit the headboard area as it was designed for a double meaning the overhead lights and plugs were in the wrong place. The bed was very small, I'm 5'4 yet my feet hung off the end. A noise from other rooms plumbing and outside extractor fans kept me up all night. I have not experienced any issues in your apartments or the main hotel so feel this is just because the annexe building is older. As a islander I have stayed at your hotel over 10 times and this is the first time I've had anything negative to say.

Hotel is always clean. Staff are kind and welcoming and always there to help.

Stayed here night before ferrry back to mainland. Arrived at dinner time. No reservation for dinner so had one hour wait. But staff fit us in sooner. Food was good. Good value and only 20-30 mins to morning ferry.

We far prefer straight showers to shower-baths (but have noted that the later seem very common in the U K).

Very spacious, comfortable and serviceable - without undue clutter. The lift was also much appreciated. The staff too, were exceptional.

The location was perfect, the room spacious as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and we also had really delicious fish food for our two dinners. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Renovated reception area and restaurant are lovely. Great location near waterfront. Breakfast good value. Food excellent standard for breakfast and dinner.
