Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPlant based breakfast. This is the only reason I’ve not given a 10 overall. Whilst I understand there is place for plant based menus - it was not for me. As a result I didn’t enjoy / like the menu on offer. Evening meal menu had a mixture of plant and non plant based which was fine. Though everything else was fabulous.
Rooms were excellent!!! Location perfect!!

United KingdomThere were just a couple of little niggles in the room - the bed was really high and there were no bedside tables or lights (there was a light built into the headboard but you had to get out of bed to turn it on or off!) we like to read in bed so this was a bit annoying. Also, I think some well placed hooks, on the back of the door or just as you enter the room for coats and on the back of the bathoom door for towels would be extremely useful. But as I said, only niggles, the room was comfy, warm, cosy and peaceful. We enjoyed the smart TV and appreciated the booja truffles and tea, coffee and oat milk!
The setting is idyllic and from the first moment we stepped in we were welcomed by the friendly staff... the snug for hotel guests is a nice touch and we were able to leave our luggage there and have lunch and a quick explore of Malham before checking in. The food is what we came for and it was sensational and so novel as a vegan couple for us to be able to order everything on the menu, we loved it. Highlights for me were the Juicy Marbles steak and the eton mess, and the breakfasts were divine - so thoughtfully laid out and attended with coffee on tap. I don't drink and was delighted to have Lucky Saint on tap as well as nice kombuchas - some individual alcohol free wine options would have been appreciated .Nice to see happy dogs included with their families (we don't have dogs but we love em) and the decor is fab, I am now trying to convince my partner that the monkey lights will be a good investment...all in all we had an incredibly relaxing stay and we are already looking for reasons to return! We loved Malham and the surrounding area and enjoyed a morning dip in Janet's Foss and a couple of good hikes during our stay - burning off the yummy food so we could eat more!

United KingdomNo bedrooms which were dog free. We stayed in room 16 which was upstairs and whilst it was clean, the rug was badly stained and bathroom smelt of wet dog. Whether this was because the cleaning cloths/mops/hoovers smell of dog or because a dog had been in before us I don’t know. The towels felt like they had been washed but were stained and I guess people use them for their dogs. We love dogs and were happy to be around them all over the hotel but wound have preferred a room in which dogs were not allowed. We had Sunday lunch which was fantastic, then an evening meal which was again fantastic. We had high hopes for breakfast - which was lovely but whatever the sausages are they were terrible. Otherwise good.
Friendly staff, lovely location, plant based.

United KingdomTo be very picky - a few of the furniture items in our room/bathroom were damaged so replacing these would elevate the experience. I also didn’t love the choice of sausages used at breakfast but I appreciate that is personal preference!
Where to begin! The property in itself and the surrounding areas were just beautiful. Staff were ever so friendly and always happy to help however they could. Other guests were also lovely and chatty - Beck Hall has done an amazing job at creating a community feel for all who stay, although difficult not to when almost everyone has an adorable dog to meet! All of that before even talking about the food. Absolutely stunning and a fantastic range of choice. Lots of guides and information about the area so you can thoroughly plan your stay.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a beautiful location nearby several great spots for exploring such as Janet's Foss and Malham Cove. The hotel itself was exceptional, the rooms were spotless and the owners greeted us at the door. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating, and best of all the food is excellent (and fully vegan!). We had dinner when we arrived, breakfast in the morning before exploring, and came back for an afternoon tea before we left, all of which were spectacular! Definitely visiting again soon.
