There was intermittent noise from a water pump somewhere but wasn't hugely intrusive.

Very warm welcome & attentive staff. Room was already with lights on and quiet music playing, thoughtful provision of toiletries and refreshments in bedroom including home made shortbread. Delicious evening meal with tasty breakfast. Warm, home made pain au chocolate the best I have ever had!! Excellent location to break a journey off the M5.

Only two down sides - the first was a number of celing light bulbs in the room did not work. However this created a bit of a cozy atmosphere so was really not a problem. Secondly - although not forseeable by the establishment, a rain deluge during the early evening knocked out all draft beers and pumps. There was no back up beer as there were no bottled beers available. Had a bottle of complimentary beer in the room which went some way to managing this problem.

The staff were both friendly and helpful from arrival to departure. The room exceeded expectations and was more comfortable than we were expecting. The facilities in the room plus the welcome package items were more than would normally be expected. The meals were all cooked freshly to order and were slightly different from those found in other similar establishments which was refreshing. In all exceeded our expectations for a hostelry of this type.

The shower went very hot, whilst in it! The bath handles were wobbly! I could hear other people's TV whilst in the room. However, it they do provide ear plugs. All in all, it is a great hotel, and I slept very well!

Staff are friendly and very helpful! The rooms have all the toiletries you will need and ear plugs! I can not compliment the food enough... excellent!

The room itself was to warm I think because it was over the kitchen, cleanliness could use a little more attention as there was a fair amount of dust in the draws and various areas, extraction fans from kitchen are quite noisy when the window is open, the most annoying thing was approx every 15mins or so, some kind of pump starts up, the sound appears to come from the bathroom, it ran for probably 3/4 minutes and was continuous throughout 24 hour period, definitely very annoying during the night. The menu was good part from most item contained garlic and or onion, not so good when you have an allergy and can’t tolerate anything with onion.

The staff were excellent and friendly, the room was nice and well furnished, all meals were amazing and definitely served hot.the staff and chef did their best to accommodate my wife’s onion allergy, but menu excluding the onion and garlic was very limited.
