The service at breakfast was not as warm and welcoming as throughout the rest of our stay.

Peter looked after us brilliantly from the initial phone call when we had a query with our booking, through arrival to departure. What a charming host!

Meal. Did not complain as tired and hungry. Overcooked battered fish with minuscule portion of mushy peas. Steak and kidney pie good but served on cold mash; limited vegetable option - cabbage or broccoli. Alterations to building mean many bar /restaurant area is very open and echos with noise of jovial groups - we asked to be moved to the quieter restaurant area,

Great room exceptionally well appointed. Quiet despite being over main bar/restaurant.

They could have done with a few more staff as there was a bit of waiting around to check in and at breakfast. Also, the food menu was not very extensive as there were a number of items which were not available.

The bedrooms were excellent. I booked the property for my parents and their rooms were in the main building - they were cosy, modern and well decorated, warm and clean.

Newly refurbished room was very comfortable in every way' Very good breakfast. Also we hosted a family dinner for 7. This was excellent, not fine dining but really good pub food Very friendly helpful staff

Menu for dinner was a bit unimaginative, wine list limited.

Excellent well thought out room, good en suite bathroom with bath. Very helpful friendly staff. Dinner in bar was OK, Breakfast very good.

Breakfast staff were a bit lacking in service skills/common sense and the food was disappointing.

Reception and bar staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. Comfortable bed. Easy lte access via your room card.

friendly staff food nice although we only had a starter as a snack room pleasant and I think had been refurbed and I think rooms better than the downstairs suggested downstairs corridors etc in need of refurb as was car park area very shabby … however I get the impression the place has been taken over recently and is on the up ….so will give another try . the shower was terrible but I do find this with quite a few hotels !! so I won’t hold it against them

Carpet was a bit threadbare and bathroom could benefit from a bit of decorative update. Cost for room only quite high.

Didn't have breakfast due to the cost. Room was fine, with a very comfortable bed and great pillows. Toiletries and quality of towels were great.

There were quite a lot of flies around but it is a country location and with hot weather a lot of windows were open

Such a comfortable old hotel. The staff were accommodating and friendly. A special mention to Jane who really went the extra five yards for us. She was super helpful regarding places to see and transport to same.

Lovely breakfast! We actually missed the specific breakfast timings and they honoured it for us. We sat in the gorgeous garden and it was lovely! The staff also went above and beyond getting us an early check in so we could get ready for a wedding nearby. Super friendly helpful and kind people. The rooms were traditional and comfortable. Great rural views too.
